Hyrule could deal with the fall of the city.
Hyrule could deal with the time loop.
But both at once seems a bit much to ask of a guy.
The memory loss following his apparent death in a previous loop isn't helping.
He can't remember this place, or how long it's been, or this Legend guy who says he knows him, or how to fight the giant metal laser spider monsters, or anything at all since he stepped through that first portal, really.
But he's here now and this problem isn't going to solve itself.
This ain't his first apocalypse.

“When I summoned you, Shadow Link, I expected you to follow orders,” Demise seethes, glaring down at him with the hatred the god is so well known for. “Kill the heroes, I commanded you. And what do you do?” He slams his fists down onto the arms of his gaudy throne, cracking the stone. “Pull pranks?!”
“Distractions,” Shadow lies smoothly, wondering if it is possible for a god to perish from high blood pressure. “To lead them astray from the Goddesses’ mission.”
“I want them dead, not distracted!”
Shadow fights not to laugh. Well, that’s not going to happen. If Demise wanted them dead so badly, he should have picked a minion that actually gave a shit about his world-ending nonsense.
Besides, if the heroes were dead, Shadow Link wouldn’t be having nearly so much fun.

Twilight hadn’t realized how heavy hiding Wolfie had been until he stopped doing it. The way the others had learned was . . . less than ideal, but for the first time since the mirror and his heart had been shattered there was no need to hide as either the hylian or the Wolf. “You were in my way.” Their voice was confident and dry, though a bit reedy. Not enough to take away from the steadiness and grit, but enough to betray a higher level of youth than their looks would. It reminded him of… something. They looked up and narrowed their eyes at him. “Who are you?”
“I… I don’t know.” He hadn’t had the time to sit on that fact since gaining consciousness and facing their actively breaking ship. All he knew was that he woke up.
Who was he? Why were the two of them on a ship? What aspect of their space travel caused this lack of knowledge? And why did his skin feel wrong?
“Dammit,” the other person scrunched their face up in response. “I don’t know either.”
