    Summary

“I did not expect to see you work as the Starshyna’s messenger boy,” Varka said with a relaxed, almost all-knowing smile. “What happened to Illuga?”

“Nothing,” Flins said. “The Starshyna believes you might try to steal him away from the Ratniki. It is more appropriate if I come instead.”

Varka had to find something funny in Flins’s half-truth, laughing first and then tapping his chin pensively. “Is he not afraid of me trying to steal you away? I’ll say, it seems like his judgment isn’t as sharp as he’d want it to be.”

Varka was a very touch-oriented person. Always clapping shoulders, patting backs, or holding onto his friends’ arms when he laughed too hard. Flins wanted to feel that for himself.

But when he had it, it felt shallow. He missed the lingering touches, their feet playing under the table, their hands gravitating towards one another. He wanted Varka to hold him and never let go.

It was a lot to ask because Varka did not belong to the graveyard or to Nod-Krai. He belonged to his family back in Mondstadt, whom he had never spoken to Flins about.

Because for the first time, it was Flins who was temporary—not the other way around.

    Summary

Pantalone had grown quite comfortable in Snezhnaya since his induction into the Harbingers, and held no fond regard for his estranged homeland; he did not miss the balminess that lasted throughout much of the year, nor the taste of salt spray from the sea that stuck to the back of his teeth, nor the dull, persistent roar of people busily shuffling to and fro on the docks of the harbor. Pantalone considered Liyue a nation unworthy of its sophisticated commerce; the business conducted within their borders, no matter how big or small, was admirably professional and precise, but ultimately lost on the people that partook in it. Liyue was antiquated. People clung to their traditions too tightly, including the Archon they now perceived to be dead. As such, a nation that ought to have had the wherewithal to be as industrious as Fontaine or Snezhnaya instead closer resembled the backdrop of one of those tired old tales their elders spun of days gone past. They cherished their roots above all else - and because of that, they would never take notice that their branches had long since been overpruned.

    Summary

In the sea of azure flames stood a lone figure, with long, flickering tendrils of fire as its hair and flowing flares as its robes.

Slowly, it turned its head, white-hot flames flaring where its eyes should be. Its gaze met with Varka’s, and its face cracked open into an eerie grin, smiling almost ear to ear. The pale flames of the vampire’s eyes retreated, and in its place, revealed human-like irises— They were golden. A bright, beautiful gold. Like fireflies along riverbanks, like stars in the night sky.

The fire of its face gave way to unveil thin, pale lips. They parted with a sigh, golden eyes narrowed, and the vampire spoke.

    Please,

Lay me to rest with those buried under these graves.

    ***

Of which vampire Flins wished to meet his end, but Varka begged to differ.

Thought to be a threat by the Lightkeepers and the Knights of Favonius, Flins was held prisoner in Piramida following a huge outbreak of the Wild Hunt in Final Night Cemetery, and through their transactions, Varka gradually learnt more and more about vampires and the ghouls that they brought upon these lands— the Wild Hunt.

    Summary

When Alastor dies in 1933, he expects Hell.
What he does not expect is to wake in the in-between, face to face with Michael, the prince of Heaven, and be offered a bargain. All in exchange of protecting one Lucifer Morningstar, no less!
    Alastor agrees for practical reasons.
Then everything becomes inconvenient because what begins as a mission becomes something far messier as Alastor is drawn into the world of these two angels. There are too many feelings involved and that's certainly not what he bargained for!

(Someone please help this dumb deer.)
