Lan Zhan freezes.
The man on the sofa is familiar. Dressed in tight leather pants, a red fishnet top with an insanely deep plunge and a black leather jacket, he sits there like he owns the place – surrounded by several women caressing his bare chest and playing with his long ebony hair. A girl in front of him performs a lap dance, but, seeing Lan Zhan, the man unceremoniously shoves her out of the way without as much as a glance.
“Isn’t it Lan-fucking-Zhan?” Wei Ying smiles wide as he shouts over the loud music, but his silver gaze is devoid of any amusement or light.
After letting his college sweetheart Wei Ying go thirteen years ago, Lan Zhan meets him and his band again in a fancy nightclub. But it is no longer the same Wei Ying he used to know. Something has drastically changed about the man, and when an accident brings them together again, Lan Zhan is determined to find out what exactly is bothering Wei Ying before it's too late.

With heavy steps, Wei Ying walks back to the living room and plops down on the sofa again. His silver eyes travel around the room for a while, mind flooded by memories of sunny mornings, meals and cosy evenings together and all the surfaces they fucked each other on. Then they stop at the door of Lan Zhan's study.

If Lan Zhan walked out right now and spoke to him, Wei Ying would throw the backpack away, hold his boyfriend close and never let him go.
He begs. He begs it would happen. He begs Lan Zhan to somehow feel how much on the edge Wei Ying is balancing right now.
"Please," he whispers - the tightening feeling in his throat is slowly choking him while the silver eyes threaten to fill with tears. "Please, Lan Zhan."

If he let it go, then the memory of Wei Ying would eventually fade away. He would forget that face, that laughter. So, Lan Zhan held on to his grief as tightly as possible. And as the years went on, he realised that what he lost wasn't just his friend or his love. He had lost his soulmate.
