    “What is your name?” Ilya asks, his accent lilting as the words escape him. The stranger’s hands are braced against Ilya’s pecs, and his thumb strokes right over Ilya’s nipple through his shirt, sending a shiver down his spine.

    With a wicked grin the stranger arches up onto his toes and lets his own lips trail along Ilya’s jaw. They stop at his ear and his breath catches as Ilya’s fingers dig into his waist, and he breathes out one word, a name. “Shane.”

    Ilya’s eyes flutter shut as Shane’s teeth nip at his earlobe, and then he’s flat-footed again looking up at Ilya with eyes darkened by lust.

    OR Shane and Ilya meet at a club in Ottawa. Ilya doesn't realize Shane is hiding a little secret.

    Shane Hollander has made all the right decisions. This restraint has secured Shane a legacy as one of the greatest players of all time. Everything he ever wanted, and somehow never enough.

    Ilya Rozanov is long dead, lost to fire and water in a plane crash half a century ago. But at the end of his carefully controlled life, Shane can’t stop dreaming about him, haunted by echoes of what might have been.

    Given a chance to change the past, Shane has to decide what really matters: hockey, or the only bad decision he was ever tempted to make.

    “This hot tub has not been well maintained,” Rozanov complained as they stood on the deck, staring at the built-in hot tub, big enough to fit 8 people. 

    “So, you can replace it,” Shane replied patiently.

    “I will be too busy to replace the hot tub. Then I will have a long day, and I will decide to have a soak in my rancid hot tub, and then I will catch diphtheria and die.” Rozanov looked at Shane, accusatory. “You want me to die?”

    Shane looked down. The hot tub looked no more or less rancid than any other hot tub. “I don’t think you can get diphtheria from a dirty hot tub.”

    “You are doctor now?” Rozanov asked, and Shane stayed silent. 

    Shane Hollander is a realtor who works with the Ottawa Centaurs to find properties for new players.

    Ilya Rozanov needs a home.
