He unfolds his arms to brandish a crumpled envelope in Mike’s face, and he knows without even looking at his own handwriting on the front exactly what it is.

Alex (or Abram—the secret name the boy whispered to Andrew one night) is the new kid at Andrew's school, and Andrew is partnered with him for an English project about The Outsiders: Andrew and Abram have to come up with a runaway plan that would work out better than Johnny and Pony's.
