Summary
At age 22, finding nothing to live for, Dazai tries to die. He fails again, saved by his high school fling, Nakahara Chuuya, who, in addition to a tattoo artist, winds up giving him reason after reason to keep going, not least of which is the promise of a tattoo one year after his last attempt.

Summary
“You’ve got to be shitting me-” Chuuya says, his tone bordering on rage as he kicks a rock below his foot. “You’re telling me the BOSS of the Port Mafia want us to get tattoos with eachother?” He asks, his tone now purely filled with disbelief as he glares at Dazai from the corner of his eyes.
Dazai simply nods, but has a crazed grin on his life, like if he were taking a life. “I know! How could Mori-san impose a sentence so horrible?!” He shouts, his tone gleeful as he pokes Chuuya with a finger, a complete opposite to his words. “But alass-” Dazai say, pulling back from Chuuya, resting the back of his hand against his forehead, playing the distressed damnel. “We couldn’t fight the Boss’s orders!”
