Summary
The worst thing about loving someone who doesn’t love you back isn’t the pain. It’s the absence. The empty space where a kiss should’ve been. The ghost of warmth that lingers in your bed because you imagined them next to you. The silence after they say, “You’re one of my closest friends,” like that’s a gift.
II can only smile and nod and say, “Yeah. You too.”
He meant it, at some point. He wants it to be enough.

Summary
II is sure some kind of animal infiltrated his garden to have late-night feasts on his raspberries. After a short encounter with it one night, his uninvited guest disappears, leaving him with some questions, only to make an unexpected return and raise even more.
