Summary
At first, it was peaceful. The Vessel felt like he was floating, the outside world distant and quiet, his mind calm and empty.
He could not smell or see or hear where he was, reduced to nothing but sensation and the cloying, metallic taste in his mouth.
He absently remembered the emotions he’d felt before being where he was - fear, pain, anger - but, when he tried to put faces or names to anything specific, he struggled to do so. Eventually, he'd give up, as doing so only made him tired, his mind not capable of absorbing the complexities of a life beyond where he was. It didn’t feel like it mattered very much, anyways.
He curled in on himself, like an unborn fetus, floating in velvety abyss, and his memories were a distant hum in the back of his mind.
This was His promise. To become more than he once was. Nothing could hurt him here. Not anymore.
...
Did... did he always have six limbs? No, that can't be right....
Or Vessel is transformed into something new, and his consorts are here to help him acclimate.

Summary
“Ganging up on me, are you?” you pose after a moment, watching an all too delighted smirk curl along II’s lips. “Careful, boys. Don’t start something you can’t finish.”
II’s eyes glint. Vessel huffs a quiet laugh. It’s the drummer who leans into your side, brushing a stray strand of hair back over your shoulder. If his fingertips graze along your skin, or he leans in just enough to set his lips near the shell of your ear, then you busy yourself with staring down Vessel as the singer stays content to just watch.
“I think we can finish you off just fine, Princess,” II assures.

A long-awaited date night between you, Vessel, and II.

Summary
‘He whipped you?’ II says.
‘I- yes,’ Vessel admits. II can hear the water slosh as Vessel shifts uncomfortably. He obviously hadn’t been planning on telling II that particular detail.
‘What else?’ II asks, he can hear the harshness in his own voice but he can’t seem to stop himself. Vessel’s not the only one with a masochistic streak. Vessel doesn’t say anything else. II thinks about Sleep, and all His sticky, overripe possessiveness. He didn’t just want Vessel’s mind and soul all to Himself, he wanted his body too.
There's nothing II wouldn't do for Vessel.

Summary
Vessel hadn’t responded to II directly, instead, pointing a finger at IV. “Fourth.”
IV froze, afraid he wasn’t hearing him correctly, only for III to nudge his shoulder. IV spoke up, a part of him worried that he’d angered Sleep - and Vessel by proxy - in some way. “Y-yes?”
Vessel calmly walked over until they were almost toe-to-toe, and IV had to resist taking a few steps back. As much as he worshipped and idolized Vessel as Sleep’s chosen, being this close was intense, like staring into the sun. A charcoal gray hand reached forward and caressed IV’s chin from under the golden tulle of his mask, before he planted his palm on the top of IV’s head. IV silently basked in the sudden attention, unable to pull his eyes away.
Vessel smiled, his white teeth showing. “Tonight, go to altar. We will hold a ritual. You will be mine.”

Summary
‘Hey, wanna see a magic trick?’ III asks, leering at Vessel and II.
‘No,’ II growls but III’s already snagged the drink from Vessel’s hand; the very same espresso martini that IV had bought him so the strong coffee flavour would mask any other tastes there might be in the drink. III downs it in one. His eyes are on IV’s as he does.
III is going to regret messing up IV's plans, and getting between him and Vessel.

Summary
"— such a stupid fucking good boy."
IV's eyes widened, tensing and coughing hard as he choked. Desperately gasping in air in-between the suffering. He'd accidentally breathed in his fucking water after hearing that. IV's brain barely had the time to process what was happening around him and II called him that? What? IV's gaze shot over to II as his cheeks heated up, analyzing the smaller's face. II had only just looked up from his phone, given the fact IV was audibly dying. II raised an eyebrow at him, "Uhm.. You alright man..?"
Alright? How could IV be alright when his throat was screaming at him for daring to try to breathe liquid instead of air? Or when II just called him a stupid fucking good boy? The way II was looking at him was starting to make him think he had just hallucinated it. Maybe he had. How fucking dehydrated was he?
Or the one where IV mishears II and gets heated over it.

Summary
“Someone got too enthusiastic, huh?” III teases, pushing down a twinge at the evidence that Vessel is a taken man. It figures. He’s too good looking and sweet not to be.
“My boyfriend likes to, y’know.” Vessel gestures at the marks adorning his throat. There really are a lot of them, and the longer III looks, the less he sees humor in the situation.
“Mark his territory?”
“You make him sound like a dog pissing on a tree.”
“More like a dog gnawing on a bone,” III jokes, but his heart isn’t in it. “You have to admit that this is pretty intense."
“He’s just being an alpha about it."
III wants his concern to be rooted in misplaced jealousy, but that sounds like it was taken from his mum’s old playbook.
When Sleep leads III to Vessel, he can't help but wish for more than a platonic pack bond. Unfortunately, Vessel already has an alpha. An insecure, jealous, rude little alpha, that clearly has no idea how to act or treat his packmates.
III never used to believe in the competitive posturing his fellow alphas put on, but maybe what II needs is for a real alpha to show him how it's done.

‘I need a… willing participant,’ II says, ‘I need to practice mostly, maybe take a few pics for my site if it looks good.’ He leans down to unzip the rucksack he’d come in with. It’s full of ropes.
‘Uh, sure,’ III says, feeling hot all over.
III is just doing II a favour.

‘I think I’d better put you on a lead,’ III says and Vessel feels him slip something over his head. III pulls it close around his throat and Vessel realises it's his belt. He feels a hot flush splash across his face and chest.
‘There,’ III says, giving his makeshift lead a little tug. ‘Let's go for a walk, doggy.’

‘This isn’t fair,’ he says, going over the bright ink on II’s stomach for a third time.
‘I’ll make it worth your while,’ II says. Vessel snorts, dabbing with the sponge.
‘How?’ he asks.
‘Back pocket,’ II says, indicating with his chin. Vessel slips his hand into II’s pocket feeling something smooth and rounded.
II has an offering for Vessel.

‘You took it?’ II says vaguely impressed. He takes another drink.
‘Me and IV,’ III says, nodding his head, then adds, ‘and 10 others.’
‘Fuck, 12 people?’ II says, raising his eyebrows. He’s never heard of so many people being needed.
‘Yeah,’ III says cheerfully, ‘big fucker this one, almost as tall as me. Took out three dogs.’
II is back and he has a job to do.

‘We agreed drunk, not high,’ II says, folding his arms.

The plan is very simple.

‘What do you make?’ II asks, as he sees III straighten up and adjust a camera that’s attached to some sort of arm that’s then attached to the van.
‘Art films,’ III answers with a smirk as Vessel starts to scream. He’s trying to kick IV off him. ‘Don’t ’spose you fancy being a movie star?’ he asks, offering a matching balaclava.
III's got a side hustle that II's not sure he wants to be involved with.

Summary
“But you aren’t an omega."
“I wasn’t before I went to sleep,” Vessel agrees. “But I think I might be, now.”
II runs his hand through his cropped hair to avoid reaching past the bedframe dividing him from Vessel. He desperately attempts to avoid why he feels like the space between them is a barrier he isn’t allowed to cross without permission, when a few days ago he wouldn’t have thought twice about sitting down beside Vessel, no matter the questionable state of his sheets.
“Ves, are you implying that you think you were bitched by a dream?”
It sounds even more ridiculous out loud.
“No,” Vessel denies, shifting in a way that makes his sheets drag eye-catchingly across the sweat pearling on his defined waist. He laughs without humor when he says, “I think it was more like I was bitched by a god.”
When divine intervention causes what is supposed to be the first night of Vessel's rut to become the start of his first ever heat, II is determined to give his boyfriend everything he needs. He only fears that, as a beta, he won't be able to deliver.
The universe finds fit to give him a means to rise to the occasion.

Summary
“How are you feeling?”
Vessel met his eyes and admitted, “A little weird.” He wanted to be honest, knew that he could be. He swept his hands down the skirt, straightening it, then flicked his gaze to II’s face again, tilting his head. “But– pretty?” he half asked, half answered.
“M-hm.” II smoothed out a small crease at his side, then stopped his hand at his waist, splaying his fingers. “Very pretty.”
