The bear is rummaging around where the old wall used to be. Carmy nods absentmindedly, rubbing his eyes. When he looks again, it is gone. In his dreams he catches it staring back, eyes dark and round. Sometimes it growls from a place that he can't see and he wakes up shaking. Carmy thought he didn't need the bear anymore, but he doesn't seem to be able to let it go.
