Summary
All fighting had ever brought her was pain and death. She knew that she could protect others if only she fought back, she knew she could save many who would die if only she would raise her arms to strike. And yet, she couldn't. Not when the cost was her sanity, her heart, her very breath. With only a disabled father to care for and little in the way of gil or possessions, Lily set out to chase what amounted to little more than a rumor - a rumor of her sister's survival. To Ishgard, she went, alone and so very lost.
All fighting had ever brought them was miserable regret and guilt. They knew they were stronger than most, knew that the heretics had offered only pain in their accursed draught, and yet still they took it. After all, what was dragon's blood in the face of such pain? They'd lost it all, left their home, traveled across the world. The war took *everything from them*. Their body was but another loss to regret. Aethylea lingered, lost and ruined by what the city had taken from them. Ishgard, they'd leave - or die trying.
Each would find they weren't the only lost souls there, uncertain of why they lived. Each wished only to find family, in whatever form it would take.

Then do it all once again. Most days he's good. Smiles and laughs. Grumbles and snark. Most days, Zoro feels fine.
But some days, some days he wonders if they really like him.

Summary

But now, at 24 years old, he knew better.
