Summary
It feels stupid to Lang Qianqiu that the apartment still has that subtle coffee scent, that particular scent Qi Rong loved, that particular scent that Lang Qianqiu gifted him on the day they completed their first month together. Lang Qianqiu knows that the apartment smells that way because he was the one who bought it even after Qi Rong left and sprayed it every day in his home, just for the “normalcy” (though, he knows that deep down it’s because he misses Qi Rong).
It’s sad, really, the way it all ended. They’d gotten into an argument, which was rare for them even though anyone who knows Qi Rong would think otherwise (“You’re becoming just like him, Qi Rong”).
The argument hadn’t been about something new, though.

That was how simpletons like his fellow Peak Lords rationalized it.
Shen Qingqiu thought that perhaps Zhao Qinglin was just a lay about. Kan Zhanbu was the tiniest of the twelve Peaks. The last that Shen Qingqiu had heard, the Peak only boasted one Elder, two Masters, and five Disciples- none of this counting Zhao Qinglin himself. Unless he spent all day gazing into the sun, he had more than enough time to pick up a brush and do his job.
