But as he bowed on his knees, to the King of Hell with brown glowing skin and narrow black eyes, ethereal and looked as if he was melting as hot as the sun beneath the surface — Merlin had felt humbled enough to shut up, thinking there wasn’t much left to do at that point. Even if he has his magic, it’s not like he could outdo the Devil himself.
Then a blond prat had smirked and stepped forward, telling the Devil, then and there, that Merlin was "a monstrosity of a sad, mop of a human. I mean, honestly, his ears are too large for his head! Yet, it’s his eyes alone that tell me he's either a fighter or a troublemaker." The Devil had nodded to this. "I would like to invoke my agreement, for this soul. I’m certain I’ll enjoy making him learn to walk on his knees, Iblis."
"You'll choose him as yours?" Iblis asked skeptically, clad in a white suit upon a throne. "A human soul can be fun to play with but they can be so boring once they're complacent."

Summary

“I wasn't,” Arthur cuts in, tone like ice, “talking to you.”
