Summary
What was supposed to be a simple drive back to Los Angeles turns into a nightmare when Buck and Eddie are run off the road by a mysterious truck.
Eddie wakes up in the hospital alone.
Buck wakes up tied in a stranger’s basement.
Kidnapped by a woman seeking revenge for a tragedy tied to the 118, Buck has no idea if anyone knows where he is, while Eddie refuses to believe Buck would ever leave him behind.
As the team searches for answers and Buck fights to survive, both men are forced to confront something they’ve been avoiding for years.
Because some things are impossible to ignore when you almost lose them forever.

Summary
“She said she wasn’t worried about us breaking up.”
Oh. Well. That was pretty definitively a thing that people said about partners who were together romantically.
“Say something,” Buck instructed.
“What?”
“Anything,” Buck said, his voice wavering on the word. Which was—it was weird, right? Why was Buck so shaken by a throwaway comment?
Or maybe the better question was why wasn’t Eddie? If either of them was going to get freaked out by the assumption that he was dating a man, it would make more sense for it to be Eddie, who was straight, and not Buck, who had, in fact, already dated men.
“Aren’t you going to be late for your shift?”
-----
Buck and Eddie get shaken up by a comment from Theo’s social worker, and then by a magnitude 7 earthquake; it turns out, some disasters are better than others.

Summary
“Baby,” Buck whispers into the back of Eddie’s neck, his arms wrapped around him. “Wanna come with me to pick Chris up?”
“No,” Eddie responds, staring at the wall.
Buck frowns. “I think you should get out of the house. It’s been two days.”
“You don’t want me to come, anyway,” Eddie mumbles. “Don’t want to spend time with me, right?”
Eddie crashes.

i.e Buck struggles with his mental health and relationships following a lawsuit against his fire department.
I'm bad at summaries. Just your typical post-lawsuit fic.

Summary
There’s mud on his hands. There’s mud on his hands and he has to dig deeper, quicker, because Eddie is forty feet beneath him and surely he can’t breathe because the well is gone and Eddie is gone and Buck can’t follow him.
“Eddie,” his throat feels raw, the words wrong to his ears, “Eddie.”
“Yeah,” Eddie says, holding onto him, “I'm right here, Buck, I’m right here.”
“I can’t—” Buck breaks off, his trembling, dirty hand in the air and Eddie must understand because he takes Buck's hand without question and pulls it to his chest, right over his heart.
