Crow glances over their shoulder. Once, then twice. Nobody there. Something just didn’t sit right in their mind, but it’s something they’d live with. Nothing left to do now but get searching. Greyish-purple hands pick up bits of rubble and throw it off to the side, finding nothing. This continues for a while. Nothing, nothing and a bit more nothing.

Holidays weren’t the same. Her father only seemed to get angrier by the day. Her mother left little to no word. She was alone. Now, maybe if Dylan were here, she’d be fine. It’d all be fine. If Dylan were here, he’d probably tell her that they were going to be fine. That she was brave. She didn’t feel too brave right now. She just wanted to feel like her age again. It wasn’t right that she was almost older than her brother.
He was always supposed to be the older one.

The Prince stands and puts a hand on Peter’s shoulder. “Peter, I need you to look at me, ok?” Peter does, albeit shrinking under their gaze and wiping away tears as he fights back sobs. “What’s wrong?”
Peter just shakes his head. “Sorry, sorry…” he says.
“It’s alright, there’s no need to apologize. Do you feel sick?”
Peter nods hesitantly. “I’m- I’m scared.”
“It’s alright to be scared but you have to tell me what’s wrong so I can help you. Was there something in the food?”

Peter winds up as the royal taste tester for Prince Rumi, the soon to be king. Despite his regular screw ups, the Prince seems to be growing fond of him. Unfortunately for Peter, he’s starting to fall for the Prince. But they could never love their food taster back. Right?
