It hangs between them for a long moment, the words withering the moment they’re spoken. They might be true, or they might be something Shane says because he should. Because he’s good and kind. But Ilya has nothing to say either way. He’s still just a coward, uttering one-sided confessions from an ocean away.

I love you, I love you, I love you.“Yes, Hollander,” he pats Shane’s side as he says it, voice stretching thinner by the minute. “You are sorry for my loss, I can talk to you. Very polite, but it is done. I am fine."
You can stop now, he’s practically screaming. Please stop.
____Shane never gets injured, they get to have their talk. Somehow, that makes everything worse.

“What is the deal with you right now?” Steve asks after a long moment of looking at her like she’s an alien creature (and they know a thing or two about those).
She widens her eyes, shrugs sweetly, chews on her stirrer and sucks up the rest of her watered-down vodka.
“There’s no deal. You packed up your entire life and moved to Massachusetts without telling me- what’s your ‘deal’?”His mouth parts in shock and something so close to hurt that it makes Nancy’s stomach clench. With a contemplative tilt of his head he replies, “Last time I checked, we’re not friends, Nancy. That was something you decided, remember?”

Summary
It’s the middle of the night, a red glow is filtering through the curtains, and Nancy once again finds herself naked in Steve Harrington’s bed, watching him leave.
He’s sat at the end of the mattress, leaning to pull on his discarded socks, his shirt still missing in the rubble of the evening’s activities. If he knows she’s awake, he doesn’t acknowledge it, which leaves Nancy to stare at the expanse of his back- at the freckles she can spot even in the dark, and the angry marks she’s left against his shoulder blades.
The sight isn’t unfamiliar.Steve never sticks around for long these days. And wishing he would stay is a solitary, selfish pastime of Nancy’s.

She fixes him with a look that makes him falter. “You could,” she promises grimly.
Rick clicks his tongue. “I don’t know, you’ve seen me lose my shit enough times by now,” he chuckles, a feeble sound that only serves to sober him. “I couldn’t have held it together without you- you know that.”
She makes a small sound of disagreement but doesn’t say anything. Rick shifts closer, ducks his head to meet her eyes. “Michonne…”
“I’m fine,” she insists shortly. “I didn’t mean to scare her before- I’m sorry-“
“No, c’mon- that’s not what this is,” he cuts her off softly with a shake of his head, leaning down to once again meet her eyes. “Tell me what’s going on.”
___The events of 6x09 tear open old wounds for Michonne. Rick is there.

Summary
When Peter’s at their apartment she tries to superimpose the videos of Spider-Man over the reality of him. He doesn’t scream Spider-Man. Peter lets himself be tired or quiet or gentle. Spider-Man seems taller on tv. Peter dresses loosely and doesn’t give the impression he could get run over by a train and live to tell about it - which Ned says did in fact occur. But Ned’s always trying to sell Spider-Man or Peter Parker or both to her. It’s like living with a used car salesman.
