Summary
“Is this going to be a thing, Harrington?” Eddie asks. “You, encroaching on my sacred after-school ritual? Me, giving you advice on your woeful corn-fed white-bread courtship of Nancy Wheeler?”
Steve shrugs. “If you’re offering,” he says.
Eddie thumbs his lip in consideration. He waits a beat, then one more, before circling in on Steve, one ringed hand outstretched – a handshake, offered.
“Fine,” he says, generously. Steve makes to grasp his hand. Eddie snatches it back. “But!” he exclaims, “I want something in exchange.”
“What is it?” Steve sighs. “Money? Girls? Popularity? Because, I’ll be honest, man – with your— uh— reputation… there’s only so much I can do.”
A Cheshire grin curls across Eddie’s face.
“A favour.”
It's 1987. Dustin's learning to drive, Robin thinks she's psychic, and Steve's trying to figure out where he went wrong befriending Eddie Munson.

“So are we doing this then?”
Eddie narrows his eyes.
Okay. Fine. Skipping foreplay, sure.
“Doing what, Harrington?”
Irritation flickers across Steve’s features as he steps forward again, still breathing hard and unevenly. Still red in the face.
“You’re really going to make me say it?” he whispers. “You want me to ask?”
“No,” Eddie grins, reaching up to tug at the red ascot tied around his stupid little sailor shirt. He leans in closer, hooking a finger into the waistband of his stupid little sailor shorts. His lips brush the shell of Steve’s ear as he speaks, voice pitched soft and low.
“You’re not going to ask. You’re going to beg.”—
Eddie spends his summer learning things about himself – such as the fact that the only thing he enjoys about his dreary summer job at the mall comes in the form of one Steve Harrington: fallen from grace, suited up in a borderline indecent uniform, easy to torment, and wound tighter than a drum.
Steve spends his summer learning things about himself as a result of Eddie’s habitual tormenting.Bookmarked by purestarrydelights

Summary
“Are you alright?” Steve asks, walking over and glancing down. “Need a hand?”
“It’s fine, just leave me here.” The man in question sighs and shakes his head, eyes still closed as he lays in the middle of the sidewalk.
“I…” Steve starts, looking around at the pedestrians who peer over their shoulders as they step around the scene carefully. “I could, but then when I see a headline later that a man was found frozen to the sidewalk outside Dunkin, I’ll probably feel bad.”
Mystery Man brushes the hair out of his face and cracks one eye open— big and brown— and Steve thinks the guy might start crying.
What the fuck is going on this morning? He wonders to himself.
“Ice is fucking slippery.”
“Yeah, that’s kind of its thing. C’mon,” Steve extends a hand that Mystery Man finally accepts, his gloved hand soft and velvety in Steve’s bare hand.
“Thanks. I’m uh, I’m Eddie.”
“Steve.”
Or, Gym Teacher and Hockey Coach Steve Harrington meets Eddie Munson outside of a Dunkin Donuts. As any New Englander knows, it's the beginning of a beautiful thing.
