Summary
After their visit to Jötunheimr, Loki returns to the vault storing the power source of the Jötnar, the casket of ancient winters. His greatest fears come true when the spell is finally broken and he returns to his true form. As a last resort to stop the kingdom of Asgard from freezing over, Heimdall returns Thor to Asgard, giving him the task to retrieve his brother and the casket and make him defrost Odin.
(Basically Thor 1 with the plot of Frozen)

Summary
Only a mage driven to insanity burns their own tissues for seidr.
Loki had far too much experience to know that madness is just one desperate act away.
Stripped of the body he'd always known, Loki is bound in his true form, that of a frost giant runt barely on the cusp of adolescence. Yet no one knows what lies under the false image of the disgraced second Prince of Asgard, certainly not Thor.
Loki would not survive the truth of his lineage being uncovered, but Odin still has use of his stolen relic.
However – weak from months in Asgard's dungeon after his near-death on Svartalfheim and Thanos' ministrations – Loki is stolen from Asgard's dungeons by Thor. As the only known wielder of two Infinity Stones, the Avengers hope to use Loki to uncover the reason behind their appearance on Earth. Especially in light of the Mind Stone taken form as their newest ally: the Vision.
But they are not the only ones who have use of a bound child mage.

Thor used to call Loki that when they were just wee little boys.
He looked again at the figure being brutally violated: an Ásá sized Jöt. Lithe frame, aside from his swollen middle, and thick black hair so pitch it reflected blue. The blindfold covering most of the Jöt’s face was removed, kohl lined crimson eyes of a very familiar shape rolled back and shone with tears. Ymir’s crown graced his forehead; the well-known housemark of Jötunheimr's royalty.
