The number and varieties of animals changed periodically as Cas found other homes for his strays or (more often) brought home a new one. They currently had two dogs, three cats, a rabbit, and a gecko. Oh, and there was the unicorn, of course.

Dean wasn't exactly sure how he'd ended up here.
Three hours earlier, his evening had been perfectly ordinary.
No bars, no walls, no furious angels, certainly no horny douchebags.
Okay, maybe one horny douchebag. But that had been Dean himself, so that was fine.
Yeah, so, it had been one of those evenings. When it was just too much, that feeling inside him, that nagging, longing, craving of something (someone) he didn't dare put a name to. It had been there for a very long time now, only getting stronger over the years the more Dean tried to push it down. And try to push it down, he did.
Dean needed distraction. And he knew just where to find it.

This is the knit store AU that no one asked for but I wrote anyway, where Dean, Sam and Mary sell yarn and teach knitting and crochet. Dean’s also a firefighter, because who doesn’t love a man in uniform? Sam walks dogs. But just what is Mary doing at Surekill exterminators?
