Summary
Wars never end neatly, and they rarely end quickly. It's kind of unfair that, after saving the universe, Lance still has to deal with evil plots, bad guys, assassination attempts, daring rescues, death, and bad dreams. Not to mention love. He thought he was done with all that.
Or: After the war, Lance goes home. His problems follow. Namely, Keith. Lance has no choice but to follow him right back, even when he disappears without a trace. Funny how that goes.

But Keith has somehow gone even paler in the short amount of time he’s been at the table, and he shakes his head. “No, something is . . .” His gaze flickers back to Lance, and he’s startled to find that Keith’s eyes are purple. They’ve got to be contacts. Ridiculous. As if the mullet and gloves and personality weren’t enough.
Keith pushes away from the table abruptly, looking incredibly put-off now. “I, uh—gotta go,” he mutters, before angrily gathering up the backpack he’d dropped into the chair next to him and storming out of the cafeteria.
“Huh,” Hunk says. “Well, that introduction could have gone a bit better. Don’t take it personally though; sometimes Keith’s just like that.”

Or, a Twilight au starring Lance as Bella, Keith as Edward, and the rest of the Voltron gang as themselves. Lance is insufferable, Keith is awkwardly trying to figure out why Lance is the way he is, and along the way they fall in love, or something. It's probably, definitely the best love story since Twilight itself.

Another scrap of parchment shot out of the cup, a fourth scrap of parchment, which made no sense at all, and the Headmaster grabbed it from the air, unrolling it and reading it quietly.
The entirety of the Great Hall remained silent. It was as quiet as a tomb.
“Lance Álvarez?” The Headmaster whispered, and then again, louder. “Lance Álvarez.”
Wait, what?
// Lance and Keith have always been battling it out: on the Quidditch field, in the duelling club, for the best marks in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Keith always manages to come out in the lead.
Now, the Triwizard Tournament has been announced and Lance knows that Keith is going to beat him for the only open spot, even if he pretends that he thinks otherwise. But it doesn’t quite go the way that Lance expects, and everything changes from there.
