Summary
Henry Fox and his sister Beatrice are students at the University of Texas. Of course, Henry has a major crush and infatuation with the University's president's son, Alex Claremont-Diaz. I mean why would he not? He's charming and gorgeous and seems like a great guy. After forgetting his wine at Henry's apartment, Alex comes to retrieve his wine from Henry, without knowing that Henry is absolutely in love with him.
The only problem is that Alex is Beatrice's fiance... so it may be hard for Henry to maintain his innocence when it's only him and Alex alone in his apartment.

God, that’s it, isn’t it? Of course Alex wants the win for himself, but he wants it for others more. He wants it for Pez, who gave everything to Henry and this game and deserves the win just as much as Henry does. He wants it for Amy, to show all the bigots in the MLB that she’s more than capable of coaching a team to victory. He wants it for Zahra, who’s busted her ass every day to promote the team; for Cash, who stood by Alex’s side every second to get him through his slump; for Shaan, who’s been with Henry for the entirety of his career and never once gave up on him. He wants it for every fan that rooted for him and Henry, for every person in the organization that stuck up for them, for every goddamn employee at Citi Field that makes these games possible.

It’s not that he’s not thrilled for his best friend, or doesn’t want to be part of his big day. Henry wouldn’t miss Pez’s wedding for the world, and it’s going to be a wonderful day. But these days, weddings mostly serve to remind Henry of how far away something like that is for him. He hasn’t had a serious boyfriend in years, and he’s not getting any younger.
It’s fine. It’s just one day, after all. He just has to focus on Pez, on being happy for him and Liam, and he’ll make it through.
(After traveling to Texas for his best friend's wedding, Henry makes some questionable decisions, meets a gorgeous and intriguing stranger, and ends up kissing said stranger beneath the starlit sky. It's not a bad day. But maybe not the one he intended to spend the rest of eternity in.)

Srivastava’s head tilts, eyes slanting between he and Henry with as close to what he ever probably gets to modestly contained glee. “Enemies to lovers, of course.”
or, with both promotions and sanity on the line, henry and alex are tasked with being the test subjects for a social experiment in which popular romance tropes are put to the test. it works, and then it doesn't, and for however many books alex has erroneously judged by their covers, this one might just be worth getting lost in enough to keep.
