“On three,” Adam says, then wrenches his nose into place without counting at all.
“Fuck!” Ronan swears, unwilling tears springing to his eyes at the pain. “Christ, Parrish, no warnings with you.”

Gansey’s sigh is aggravated, and though Ronan hears the metallic jangle of the Pig’s car keys, he feels lost. Left alone. “Jesus, Lynch.” He’s not afforded the comfort of a first name basis anymore. “Stay there. Don’t move. I’m coming to get you.”

Blue rests the undamaged side of her face against Gansey's shoulder. Her eyebrow hurts, a strange combination of tingling pinpricks and a pressing ache. “I want to go home,” she whispers, but she tightens her grip on his hands at the same time.

Gansey’s face is tipped up to his, just slightly. His eyes are a little glazed over, either with exhaustion or what Adam is pretty sure is a fever. To make sure, he steadies Gansey’s face with one hand and brushes his lips over his forehead, just above his left eyebrow. -

Summary
It's getting a little heated now. Gansey feels a thrill in his gut, as well as a depressing, heavy feeling. This could go one way or the other. "So what if I can't stop touching you? You're gorgeous."
A compliment will either make Adam go quiet and pleased, or it will make him angry and defensive. Being called 'gorgeous' used to do the latter, but since Adam's become more present, more confident in himself, it tends to do a mix of both.
"God, Gansey." Adam slides himself down the mattress and presses his face to the space between Gansey's jaw and his hair, below his ear. It's strangely more intimate than kissing and Gansey shivers. "You're relentless, you know that?"
"I know," Gansey says. He spider-walks his opposite hand up the back of Adam's neck and into his hair, keeping him where he is. "So, will you let me?"

Summary
Adam changes tracks. They’re winding down now, the yelling over. This is only going to end in disaster. “I’m not gonna bend to your will just because you want me to spread my legs for you,” he says lowly.
“I never asked you to.” Gansey feels tragic, like this has all gone wrong. If Adam would just see… “I only wanted to have the option. If you wanted me like that.”
Neither of them have the anatomy for penetration. Gansey’s never cared either way; his body has always been his own. But other people care, and he needs to fulfill that desire, achieve those expectations. The condition for his belonging is that he has to perform that role.
“I don’t want it like this,” Adam says heatedly, and it sounds like: I don’t want you. He shakes his head and stares down at the drawer with the harness and dildo inside, hanging open. He kicks it shut with his foot, harder than he needs to.

Summary
In a second, Adam has Gansey pushed up against a nearby tree. His hands are hot on Gansey’s waist and his wrist, and his face is so close Gansey can feel the humidity of his breath. Gansey is caught in his gaze, unnaturally bright eyes and a burning desperation that verges on panic. “Adam,” Gansey repeats, quieter. It’s starting. “It’s alright.”
“It’s not,” Adam spits. He’s like a cornered animal, except he’s the one keeping Gansey pinned here. Gansey isn’t afraid. He’s not apprehensive or worried, even if he should be. “Fuck,” Adam gasps, such frenetic fear in his voice that Gansey aches for him. He throws himself back from Gansey and splays his hands over his shoulders, arms criss-crossed like he’s protecting his chest, or what lies beneath his ribcage.

Adam and Gansey come across the same plant that Blue and Gansey found. Gansey tries to warn Adam, but if he won't listen, neither of them can be to blame for what happens after. -

Summary
"I'll lose my mind if you don't let me help you," Gansey whispers. Adam doesn't respond, out of either acquiescence or apathy, even Adam doesn't know right now, and he feels Gansey stand up in front of him.
Gansey tilts Adam’s head up, a finger curled under his chin, and Adam lets his eyes fall open a sliver. The light is cold and dim, so it doesn't hurt his head too much worse. He blinks and Gansey comes into shaky focus, leaning down over him, eyes squinted in worry. "Follow my finger," he says calmly, putting his pointer in Adam's eyeline.
"I'm not doing that." Adam jerks his chin away from Gansey's hand. "I just need a bandaid."
"…At least some water," Gansey bargains.

Adam hits his head on his way home and takes a detour to Monmouth. Gansey tries his best to take care of him.
