Curufin reached out and caught Dior by the waist. “I think he has one more in him. Concurrest thou?”
“Dost thou?” Celegorm asked the ceiling over the sound of Dior’s agreement.
“Besides,” Curufin said, running his knuckles down the line of Dior’s jaw as if he hadn’t heard, “thou canst practice on him. It would be such a shame to leave him untouched.”
And with that the knife made its second appearance.
With a little assistance from Curufin, Dior bottoms for the first time. Celegorm didn’t have to be tied to a chair to make it happen, but he’s certainly not complaining.

Blood spilled down Matthias’s face, drawing Vlad’s eye. He pressed their foreheads together, trying not to thrust up against him. Rage tended to bring out a reciprocal response in Mihaly and the switch was often abrupt. So, though the impulse was unusual, Vlad worked to calm his fellow plaything.
His effectiveness was lessened by his overwhelming awareness of Matthias’s blood, which was so unlike the stale repurposed thing Mihaly had recently been feeding him. Vlad was practically breathing it in. His tongue could flick out and steal a taste with no effort. Matthias wouldn't miss just a sip.
Vlad is not permitted to drink Matthias’s — or any human’s — blood. But when he’s desperate enough, Mihaly will allow him to lick it.

Once finished, Maitimo bent down to kiss Makalaurë’s cheek lightly. The action was familiar; Maitimo had done it hundreds of times before. This time, Makalaurë turned his face, just a little, and Maitimo’s lips brushed his mouth.
He pulled back, startled and with a fearful guilt burning in his stomach, and found Makalaurë watching him without any nerves. He had done it on purpose, Maitimo realized, even before Makalaurë prompted, “Give me a proper one for luck?”
Or: Maedhros and Makalaurë have their first, second, and third kisses with each other in rapid succession.

There's no money, Ilya will want to tell them, watching them squabble over who is seen to be handing the invalid his pill or heard talking to him most sweetly. There's never any money. There's only the endless, frictionless glide of grease and palm.
But none of that has happened yet. For now, Ilya's father eats, and Ilya reassures himself that he is not the sort of son parents regret on their deathbeds.

John passed the back of his hand over his mouth. "I think they're… doing things. That men shouldn't be doing."
Even saying it out loud made his face sweat. That wasn't what it was, it was something else, but that was the only way he could think of putting it just then. It was sick. It scared the hell out of him.
The old guy got distracted watching a bored waitress push a broom across the floor. He looked back at John. The whites of his eyes were lemon yellow.
He said, "What, both of 'em?"

In his mother’s old rooms Turgon is subdued, sensitive and tender, careful of tripping over wounds – for the both of them. Maeglin moves through the debris of his mother’s old life, fingering the ornaments, the old dresses. Each piece of fabric, every piece of furniture, from the table to the bedposts to the candlesticks, is stubbornly white. His mother’s breath moves through the room, a ghostly sigh.
