Summary
Robby should have known something was wrong when Dana looked up from the board, took one glance at him shoving his arms into his jacket like the building was on fire, and smiled.
...
Then she said, far too casually, “Just wondering what’s got you in such a hurry.”
Robby frowned. “I’m going home.”
Dana’s mouth twitched.
“Of course you are.”
Something in his spine went on alert. “What is that supposed to mean.”
“Nothing,” she said again, with the innocent tone of a woman who had never been innocent a day in her life. “Just figured it must be date night.”
Robby blinked.
“What?”
Dana turned back to the board. “Abbot’s off tonight, isn’t he?”
----Dana clocks that Jack has been courting Robby for months, Robby predictably is completely calm and composed about it.*
*He freaks out. A lot.

Summary
“When is the last time you bought new clothes?” Jack asked.
He was standing in front of Robby’s closet with a suspicious look on his face, holding a threadbare gray hoodie between two fingers like it had committed a felony and was awaiting sentencing.
Robby looked up from where he was pulling socks out of the drawer. “Don’t start. I just bought new scrubs.”

Summary
The car was no longer horizontal. It was twisted, crunched. God knew what they’d hit. The floor sloped sharply, littered with shattered glass. Smoke hung thick, mixing with the copper tang of blood and scorched plastic.
Emergency lights flickered, casting everything in a stuttering red glow like a battlefield lit by fire.
Jack’s therapist would have a field day.
Then the realization of where he was going this morning came to him. A meeting downtown. No, where were they going?
“Robby?” he rasped.

Summary
Jack Abbot stops breathing at exactly 8:52pm.
“Oh my God,” he hears someone exclaim, but he couldn’t tell you who.
As he takes in the figure on the gurney being wheeled into the ER, the IV in his arm, the blood in his hair, and the air being forced into his lungs every three seconds, Jack’s whole chest seizes up.
“It’s Doctor Robby,” One of the paramedics exclaims, like Jack can’t recognise him. Like they hadn’t kissed each other goodbye on the roof less than two hours ago.

"Out with it then," Jacob says when there's a lull in the conversation. "The real reason for this call, I know you far too well, remember?"
"Alright…I've got someone I want you to meet with.....He's stubborn, avoidant, resistant, in denial, angry, burnt out, too fucking smart for his own good," Caleb lists off.
"What's his name?"
"Michael, Michael Robinavitch."

Robby bows his head. He says, "If you are going to be there with me, in the waiting room, or, hell, sitting on the couch beside me, I feel like I need to justify who you are to me."
"It's the therapist's job to mind their business until you make your business theirs," Jack says.
"I thought it was the therapist's job to get all up in my business?"
Or,
Mike Robinavitch braves his first therapy session. Jack Abbot is his emotional support animal.

Summary
Robby says, eyebrows drawn up his head, "Are you seriously trying to goad me into having a mental breakdown right now?"
"I'm not trying to goad you into anything you don't want to do. I'm just saying that a good cry helps anybody. Especially after a day like today."
/
Jack says with patience, "Breathe deep. Relax your face. Drop your hands. Listen to that pain in the back of your throat. It'll get bigger, and louder, and it'll tell you what it wants you to do. Listen to it, and let her rip."
Or,
Jack Abbot succeeds in goading Mike Robinavitch into having a (safe and controlled) mental breakdown after the events of S1E15.

Summary
Around six in the morning, Ellis expertly places a chest tube in a thirty-seven-year-old stabbing victim, and when Jack leans over to inspect it, he is staring straight into the jagged, bloody hole in Private Milton's ribcage. The lights in T2 flicker and Jack can hear the whip of heavy canvas walls as a brutal storm rips across the desert. Milton is the one Jack had no chance of putting back together but he still tried. Fifty-five minutes of rapid infusion and internal cardiac massage and then he had called it, Milton's flat, empty heart in his hand.
Jack doesn't flinch while looking into the abyss of flesh and bone but he does lie to Ellis. "Looks good. Monitor the output, grab me after CT or if he goes south."

Summary
Most days, Dennis would say he didn’t believe in God if anyone had asked. Still, Dennis Whitaker couldn’t help but believe in God when he saw his mother being ushered to Central 9 in the Pitt. Not the benevolent God that he’d seen reflected in his studies, but the vicious, unforgiving God that he had been raised with. The God who would punish Dennis for daring to live in sin. There was no running from the Lord’s vengeance– his family had taught him so.
Dennis ran anyway.

Summary
“I haven’t really been to a wedding where I’ve, uh… let loose. But, hey,” Dennis shrugged, “maybe I’m doing it wrong.”
“If I hadn’t already agreed to go to this conference, I’d offer to go with you,” Robby said casually. “Show you how it’s done. I’ve got a good track record as a plus-one, too.” Dennis had to say something. To interrupt. To shut this down. But what was he supposed to say? No, you can’t be my plus one, because I lied about my cousin, and there is no wedding, and it seems a little weird to bring a date to a fucking funeral– “Apparently parents love it when you bring home a doctor.”
And just like that, the bubble popped.
“I’m not gay,” Dennis snapped.
He had never hated the sound of his own voice as much as he did right then.
---
Or, Dennis is anxiously headed home for a "wedding" in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the details of which are increasingly fuzzy. Robby's got a medical conference in Omaha that same weekend. So they carpool. Seventeen hours both ways in an enclosed space with no way out except a tuck and roll. This'll go great.- Language:

Summary
It’s ridiculous, how surprising it feels, but Dennis can’t help it. Dr. Robby belongs in the Pitt — he is the Pitt. To see him outside of the PTMC feels like seeing your school teacher in the grocery store as a pre-teen — unsettling, mildly world-shifting, and leaving you feeling slightly giddy.
When Dennis finds out his boss is a part of a less-than-typical subculture, he finds himself falling down the rabbit hole of kink, self-exploration, and how to find that balance between what you really want versus what you actually end up getting.
Much to Robby's chagrin.

Summary
“He’s gay?”
Dennis nods. He holds Robby’s eyes.
“Do you have an issue with that?” Robby asks, but there’s no judgement in his tone.
Dennis opens his mouth to say no, of course not, that would be so unbelievably hypocritical, but all that comes out is: “I don’t know.”
Robby runs the alcohol swab over his cheek again. “You don’t know.”
“I… “ Dennis pauses, trying to get a hold of himself. “I think that it’s fine for oth— for people.”Or, Dennis gets punched, and Robby does his best to take care of him. He doesn't do a great job patching him up, but he sure makes him feel better. With some religious themes because how can you not.

She comes back inside to help him clear the table, and she notices that the crust from her plate is gone.
He ate her crust.

Dennis has siblings—a handful of brothers—so he’s probably used to stealing their food. Sharing.
Trinity Santos didn’t grow up with siblings.

Summary
When Dennis leans over a man brought in for drunkenness, shaking his shoulder and, when that gets no response, moving to a sternal rub, he is completely blindsided by the elbow which connects with his brow bone, knocking him to the floor in an undignified heap and causing him to glance his head off the arm of a plastic chair on the way down. And Jack, God help him, is still in the corridor struggling with a pair of gloves.

Dennis gets punched by a patient. Jack helps out as best he can in the aftermath.
