Summary
“Have you ever tried that?” Nagi asks, averting his eyes, his hands awkwardly scratching at the back of his head.
It’s weird to see Nagi embarrassed, especially over something like this.
“I have.” Reo cautiously offers up, tilting his head, like he’s trying to console a scared cat. “Hasn’t everyone? At least once, I mean.”
Kissing didn’t have to be just romantic, after all. Reo, while not overly enthusiastic, didn’t restrict his kisses.
Never on the lips, but cheeks and foreheads and inanimate surfaces. To Ba-ya, whenever he felt extra grateful, his phone, pens, Knick knacks, random animals he thought were cute, flowers when he felt dramatic, Reo kissed them innocently.
Or, Nagi wants to kiss Reo, Reo is confused, and the sky is blue.

As he approached, the frills of his headdress bounced delicately, too delicately, like each bounce was designed specifically to assassinate Nagi on sight. And then, as if the universe hadn’t tortured him enough already, Reo’s face lit up with the kind of smile that made Nagi feel like several doomsday explosions were being set off in his head.
"Oh, Nagi!" Reo called out, waving with the enthusiasm of someone who had not just obliterated Nagi's heart by existing too beautifully. He rushed over, hugged the circular tray prop close to his chest, and struck a pose far too natural for someone in a maid outfit. "How may I be of service, master~?"
Nagi’s brain bluescreened. Completely. Shutdown. System failure.

The word slid into his mind unbidden, heavy and intoxicating.
Reo swallowed hard.
That’s awful, he thought immediately. You're fucking awful, Reo.
What kind of person wants someone they love to be helpless?
What kind of person wants to be the center of someone else’s world so badly they’d clip their wings for it?
The answer came too easily.

Reo attempts to free Nagi from his orbit; Nagi refuses to exist outside of it.
