Summary
It's far too early to hear back from the Hail Mary, so Eva Stratt is uncertain why an unidentified object is headed towards Earth. As the one saddled with all the space nonsense, she moves to retrieve it. What she finds is a spacecraft covered in blood, containing a young woman claiming to be from after the death of the stars. And maybe perchance they kiss.

They haven't known each other long, but Kara can tell sadness doesn't suit Lena.
Pretty girls should always smile.
“You know,” Kara drawls, slipping playfulness in her voice. “I work out sometimes. I can, like, totally throw him into space for you.”
It’s a long shot, but somehow Kara actually gets Lena to laugh.
Lena’s always pretty, that’s a given fact, like the sun can be red, yellow and green, and the neurons in Kara’s brain cease to exist at the sight of Lena’s smile.
When it dies, the brightness of it is still at the forefront of Kara’s mind.
