a woman who had been hunched over mere moments ago, whom he had just passed in walking, sprung to her full height. she lost a scarf and somehow managed to age back a lifetime, posture straightening, and giving him a look.
then she pulled out a gun and started moving towards the apartment complex he was walking past with the groceries, dragging him with her.
OR i watched an episode of criminal minds (s5e09) again and i find it so fucking funny how everyone - i mean EVERYONE on the street in like a 2 block radius of this ONE BUILDING was an undercover swat person. LITERALLY EVERYONE. THE STREETS WERE EMPTY.

Tubbo takes a breath, and doesn't turn around to look at Tommy while he talks, voice still small.
"You know how I make impulsive decisions when I'm stressed out?"
"Yeah..." Tommy drawls, apprehensive.

Ranboo was making quiet noises as he read a book, sometimes muttering the words outlout. Tommy shivered, warbling a shrill response, mimicking the sounds that Ranboo had made. Ranboo jumped and looked up, his eyes darting around the room.

Summary
When Wilbur had seen him next, the first thing that he had noticed was the thin band that wrapped around Tommy’s finger. The gold that was woven into it reflected the light and caused Wilbur to turn to investigate.
There weren’t many people he knew that often wore rings. He had seen Ranboo with dozens of rings that he pulled off before putting gloves on to work in the burger van. He knew that Technoblade had a significant amount of them wrapped around his fingers. Phil had a thin gold wedding band that he fidgeted with when he was nervous.
Hell, Wilbur had even seen the rings that Quackity wore on a chain around his neck.

Wilbur sees Tommy with the new wedding band and notices a similar one that Ranboo has. It leads to some questions and also some insecurities.

“So what does that have to do with us?” Tommy asked, trying not to get frustrated by how easy Ranboo's life sounded.
“You want us to steal money from it,” Tubbo whispered, eyes wide.

It’s quiet. Tommy doesn’t like it when it’s quiet.
Tommy was loud. Tommy was combative and hostile and defensive and aggressive. Tommy was destructive. He knows he’s a problem child, constantly getting into trouble and wrecking any semblance of a family he might have left. But he doesn’t stop- he prefers the disgusted looks and constant new faces to the heartbreak that comes with caring.
Tommy’s been bounced from home to home for most of his adolescence. This place is supposed to be a new start with people who care, but Tommy can’t bring himself to open up. He knows it’ll only end in pain and bitterness. He has his friends and support system, and he tells himself it’s all he needs.
“We’re here.” He was told. “Try not to fuck this one up.”

Tommy is colourblind. So is everyone else until they meet their soulmate. But he's 17 now and he still hasn't met anyone who he thinks could be his soulmate. And why would he? He's loud and unfunny, he isn't worth loving.
That's what he was told at least. And when you hear something enough you start believing it. It's not like he has a soulmate to prove otherwise anyhow.
Then he meets Tubbo and Ranboo, and they're determined to show him how loved he is, even if he has a hard time believing it.

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."

The boy turned away with a self satisfied hum. "That's what I thought."
Not knowing what else to say, Ranboo turned around and went back to his painting set up. He could always move and maybe find another tree... But he really liked that tree.

Summary
Tommy watched as Sam killed Ranboo. He watched and did nothing. The guilt weighs heavily in his heart. He lost one of his best friends, all because he was too cowardly to try and save him.
He does the best he can. He tries to take care of Tubbo, tries to move on like everyone tells him to. But he can't. All he sees when he closes his eyes is Ranboo dying over and over along with Pogtopia and Logstedshire.
And then he realizes how to get Ranboo back.
He needs to make Dream an offer he can't refuse. His life, in exchange for Ranboo.
He hopes that this is enough to redeem him
