Summary
“We should meet him! Please, Dad?”
I sighed, a smile creeping across my face. It wasn’t too long ago that I would have wanted the same, to prove my skill to the undefeated and win respect and a seat at their table. Now, my shoulders ached with the thought of holding a parry against such a well-rounded competitor.
“We can’t go up to the victors.” I decided on countering, "The only way we get up there is if we beat one of them in the ring, Will.”
He looked at me, childlike annoyance in his eyes. “Well then, I’m signing you up.”
“Wilbur, you can’t,” I tried to reason with him in an adult-like manner, usually something he would listen to. “They would have to agree to the fight, and it seems like no one- Wilbur!”Series

Summary
It all stopped. The next twitch under Wilbur’s hand never came, stuck there, frozen. Wilbur felt his breathing hitch, a painful taunt to what Tommy had just done. Air didn’t come fast enough, leaving Wilbur shaky as he collapsed on top of his brother, his everything giving out. The air that did come in left him in sobs and wheezes, shaking his form and- and the body underneath him.
Through choked sobs and spit curses, Wilbur heard a whisper, seemingly right behind him. “W- Wilby?”
That was when Wilbur saw him.
A shimmering pale image of a young boy, curls too long but hanging over one of his eyes so I can be like you, Wilby, a hand over his mouth to stifle the tears, his other playing with the hem of his shirt.
Apart from his body, Tommy was a shimmering ghost standing tentatively in the doorway.or

Summary
Phil hasn’t lived yet.
At least, he doesn’t think he has. He doesn’t remember any place but here in this empty expanse of blackness. He doesn’t remember anyone but himself, or what they would even look like, or how they would sound, or what they would do. He doesn’t know what the world around him is supposed to look like, how people are supposed to act, or what the purpose of being there would be.
He doesn’t even know if there is supposed to be a life for him, or what the purpose of that life would be. All he knows is that he wants it.
He wants to live.or

Summary
So he sat alone over the waves, letting his legs swing back and forth, and listening to the sweet song of ocean spray lifting over the air.
And a scream cut through the air.
Wilbur jumped to his feet the moment he heard it, the rough cut of animalistic fear that rippled over the ocean mist like it was trying to return to the waves. Wilbur dashed down to the sand, swinging a hand over a rough wooden beam to tighten his turn, allowing sand to sink into his shoes as he ran in the direction of someone in the distance.
The head, the shoulders, they were too small to belong to anyone that wasn’t a kid.
Wilbur kneeled down at their side, ragged breaths cutting through the air like arrows to his heart. Wilbur was halfway to his pocket to reach for his phone when he decided to brace himself and look down at the kid’s injuries.
At first, he couldn’t see any injuries. He was half sure he couldn’t see at all after the trick his mind played on him. He blinked in rapid succession, trying to clear his mind from the fear-induced dream. And it wouldn’t go away.
Right below his chest where his swimming trunks should be, could be described as nothing but a fishtail.Series

Summary
Tommy had always suspected his neighbors were vampires.
First of all, they never left their house except when it was pitch black in the dead of night when Tommy would have woken up with a strange possessive feeling creeping over him, and he would turn to the window to see three figures walking by his house at three am. Either that or in the middle of a thunderstorm, when one of them would cackle with laughter at the rain and lightning.
When Phil and his two sons did leave the house, they all wore heavy black cloaks, no matter the weather or season. Like, they weren’t even subtle!
There was only one thing that scared Tommy more than the fact that his three neighbors could have been vampires. The day Tommy and his parents moved into their current home, Phil said he had three sons, not two.
Tommy had never seen the third.Or

Summary
Philza had fallen in love with the Goddess of Death.
In some twisted version of the tale of Persephone and Hades, Wilbur and Technoblade had found Philza missing in the dead of night, the door swung open and torn off its hinges. The house was littered with broken items that had once rested on dusty shelves. Their house in the middle of the plains, surrounded by nothing but nature, had somehow been ransacked, robbed, and the two boys’ father had disappeared into the night.
When he returned seven days later, the two of them wanted answers, and Phil started from the beginning.
“The night I left,” he started softly, “It wasn’t the three of us alone in this house.”or

Summary
“Bitch, what is this?” The blonde turned his nose up at the miniature shot glass, utterly offended.
Techno raised an eyebrow at Wilbur, who only leaned over the counter and pushed the shot glass closer to the newcomer. “Try it, I want to make sure you can handle it before I serve you the whole round.”
“How old do you think I am?” The kid scowled, but Wilbur just smirked.
“Mm, twelve maybe. Isn’t it past your bedtime?”
Phil snickered, and Tommy spluttered out offense. “I’m eighteen, dickhead. I can handle a- whatever this is. A Bloody Mary?”
Techno scoffed. “Sure, why don’t you try it?”
Tommy scowled, picking up the glass and absolutely downing it, using his other hand to flip Wilbur off.
It didn’t last very long, his eyes widened significantly and he blinked down at the empty glass.

Summary
The person in the cell was no one he recognized. He was small, for one, with dirtied blonde curls, clinging to a ripped red hoodie that didn’t allude to any hero's uniform. His blue eyes snapped up at their entrance, wide and open with fear, and it made Tubbo’s gut twist.
He looked about Tubbo’s age, which was just a little bit of a scary thought.
“This is Tommy,” Dream stared into the cage like he was watching a show, and not a real person behind the glass. “He’ll need two meals a day and the usual necessities.”
Tubbo nodded with something hard lodging in his throat. “Sir, which hero is he?”
“He’s not a hero.” Dream looked over at him. “Tommy is the son of a hero. You’ve probably heard of him. Zephyrus.”
The two of them locked eyes, with Tommy sending him a silent call for help through the glass that separated them.
“Oh, and if you find out if he’s hiding anything,” Dream smiled the way that made him shiver. “Tell me immediately. I don’t want this catch slipping through my fingers.”or
Tubbo has to figure out the difference between what Dream calls a hero, and what Tommy calls a villain.

Summary
“You alright there, mate?” The person in the sled asked him, and he looked up from the dogs. Tommy could see the beginnings of blond hair from under the coat, but that was about it except for the thick green parka.
“I’m fine,” Tommy replied, taking the moment to adjust. “They’re very pretty dogs.”
The person in the sled laughed. “They’re useful, at the very least.” Tommy found himself smiling. “Do you need a ride somewhere, kid?”
“If- if I can?”
“Sure,” the man waved him on, and Tommy probably ran as fast as he could to get on the back of the elevated sled. “I’m Phil,” the man introduced himself. “White one’s Techno, and his brother there is Wilbur.”
“Brother?” Tommy questioned the two breeds, ones that definitely didn’t mix.
“I adopted them both at the same time when they were pups,” Phil crossed his arms, “They at least think they’re twins.”
The husky barked at him for that one, like he had known what the words meant. The man laughed once again.
“It’s like they understand you…” Tommy marveled aloud, and he could not have been more right.Series

Summary
It was gone.
All of it, everything he had been given, he’d managed to mess it up in two years.
Alone, the king of a crumbled kingdom lay in the middle of rubble that used to hold up the walls of his home. His breaths wouldn’t fully enter his lungs. He was only allowed to take in so much air until the dust that cycled through it was enough for his body to reject, and he was left coughing.
Theseus, the king, the last of the blood of his ancestors, was laying on the ruined marble floors of what used to be his throne room, staring up at the sky that the ash had painted gray, and he hoped for death.or

Summary
“I recognize that look in your eyes,” the man smiled, “You’re done with everything, and wish nothing more than to watch it all burn.”
Wilbur scoffed. He imagined the hero complex with flames billowing out of the windows. It made a little part of him satisfied. He didn’t dare lift his scowl.
“You have no idea who you’re talking to,” Wilbur said simply. Sure, every hero had a little bit of violence in them, it was what made them continue to fight those criminals, to endure the pain of bruises every day. How else was he meant to go on? Everyone could sympathize with the villains in some way.
“Don’t I?” The man questioned, digging a hand into his pocket. Wilbur glanced at him, thinking he was about to see a business card, or at the very least, a gun.
Instead, he pulled out a mask.or
Wilbur's really done with this hero thing, but would he really go as far as to accept help from a villain?

Summary
“Well, isn’t this a surprise?” A voice rang over a speaker system. Tommy’s stomach jumped into his throat. It came from every side, impossible to tell where he actually was.
It was all a trap.
How did no one see this coming? A peace banquet between the villains, vigilantes, and heroes? That was sketchy for any side, how did he not think that the very person who could overpower anyone in the room would set something like this up?
A spotlight clicked on in the center of the room. A man in a brown trench coat slipped into the center light, grinning from ear to ear as his eyes were shadowed by his hair and mask, making it seem like there was no top to his face at all, just the smile.
“It’s lovely to see all of you,” Charm grinned impossibly wide. “Thank you for coming. As you may have guessed, I am your host.”or

Summary
Phil didn’t have a chance to knock before the door swung open. Techno enveloped him in a hug, feeling his soul start to melt now that the distance between them was closed. Phil gently laughed, embracing him back as he used his foot to ease the door closed.
“You decide to show up unannounced despite the constant letters I sent you asking to visit?” Techno chuckled, feeling the way Phil’s grip didn’t relent. “I was just in the middle of writing you one.”
Techno waited for Phil’s response, something sappy or at the very least vaguely sarcastic, but the longer he waited, the louder the silence became. Phil’s hug was verging on suffocating, like he was clinging to something that would bolt away from him if given the chance.
“Phil?” Techno dropped his voice, trying to pull away so he could look at him, but Phil just held him tighter, digging fingers into Techno’s shirt and pressing his face into his collar. “Talk to me, old man. What’s goin’ on?”

Summary
Phil paused the tape just for a moment to study the caught expression of the defendant, which was empty, devoid of life.
And too young.
He had known that before he picked up the case file. He knew that Wilbur Soot was just months away from turning eighteen when he was sentenced to life. He had caught the way the judge looked at the boy when he was up on the stand. There was no doubt that he was guilty, but there was always that little bit inside of a person that whispered what were you thinking?

Summary
“Toms?” He heard someone ask. The voice was strangely fuzzy, and he couldn’t really place it. He just hummed a response, but it came out in a croak that sounded as if he’d been dead for the past 200 years.
A hand lifted his head up, fingers placed delicately on his forehead, feeling around his cheeks. They were cool, cold even, but the contact was bliss. Tommy leaned into it, not having the brain power to keep from embarrassing himself.
“You’re warm,” the person said. “Do you feel ok?”
“Feel fine,” Tommy responded, though a very obvious lie. He couldn’t even pry his eyes apart, just sitting closed on his face, waiting until he really needed them.
Whoever the hands belonged to chuckled softly. “You obviously do not.”

Summary
“You don’t plan to kill me,” Tommy restated, still trying to keep his eyes focused away from the words hanging in the air. “So what do you plan to keep me here for?”
He wanted to hear it, loud and clear, without any hint of lies. Phil gave it to him.
“This is a rehabilitation program,” the hero said. “You’re young enough to warrant a second chance. We believe we may be able to help you understand the world better, and give you a better life.”
That was exactly the opposite of what Tommy wanted. Him? In a rehabilitation program?
Tommy blinked stupidly a few times. “You must have me confused with someone else. I’m Archfiend. The villain of four years? Number three most wanted?”
“We know who you are far better than you think, Thomas.” Phil popped a smile back to him, and Tommy openly blanched. “But you’re still young enough that we think there’s hope to bring you back to society.”or

Summary
“Oh fuck off, they did not.” Tommy craned his neck to see to either side of him, where both of the princes were chained shoulder to shoulder with him. Trying to move his hands ended up with resistance from chains and the pull of two others.
“I was expecting that gala to be hell, but definitely wasn’t expecting to get fucking kidnapped.” Wilbur tilted his head back so it was resting on the support of both Techno’s and Tommy’s, and they moved away at the same moment so Wilbur just fell backward and hurt his neck trying to catch his own head.
“Your security is awful,” Techno pointed out with a gesture to Tommy, not that they could really see each other, being chained to each other’s backs.
“Thank you, Mr. Helpful,” Tommy spat. “I’m fucking here too. It’s not like I staged your kidnapping. Had I known we were going to be kidnapped-”or

Summary
“Kid—” the piglin sighed, but Tommy walked past him with his eyes on the sidewalk. “Wait a minute, kid—”
“I’m not a fucking kid,” Tommy picked up his pace, “What the fuck do you want?” Tommy didn’t leave any room for error, bluntly demanding the use of any pleasantries that had no use for someone like him.
“Let me buy you a meal, Tommy.” Tommy’s heart skipped for a moment, almost sure it was a trap. The second part of his head was convinced that even the chance at a meal was enough to follow.
“What’s the catch?” He jogged forward, still cautious.
“You let me help you find an alternative to the ring.”
Tommy rolled his eyes. “Good luck, you’re starting from scratch.”
Techno smiled. “I can work with that.”or
Tommy and Techno bond over the one thing they have in common: the streets they live on and the hunger for a better life. It didn't go exactly as planned.
