Bruce and Selina come together in grief and loneliness, seeking comfort in intimacy that can't fix what's broken. She won't absolve him. Won't let him claim credit for destroying Dick (Dick saved himself). Won't let him be jealous of Clark Kent (who became the father Bruce never was).

Bruce Wayne has been making his own coffee for months. He's been in therapy. He's donated forty million dollars to child welfare reform. He stepped down from the Wayne Foundation board. He brought white lilies to a cemetery in Gotham and stood at the entrance and didn't go any closer because he didn't have the right. None of it is enough. He knows that.
This morning Alfred leaves seven newspapers on his desk and Bruce reads about the Grayson-Nguyen Protection Act and six other states following and all the children who will be safer because Richard Grayson asked to tell his story. Bruce thinks about the gap-toothed eight-year-old. He thinks about his conversation with Tim. He picks up a pen. He's been starting this letter for two years. Today it gets finished.
