Summary
A black car comes crashing through a Rift in downtown Cardiff, turns into a humanoid android that claims it actually WAS the car, and then insists that it has to get back to 1987 to rescue its driver... what can Jack Harkness do except lock it up in the Vault until he can decide whether to find a use for it or destroy it? It doesn't help that the android is totally rocking the whole "stark naked" look and is entirely too human in emotional affect for anybody's comfort.
Then a previously unknown alien race with delusions of conquest comes through the Rift in the heart of the Hub, and Jack's day goes from annoying to potentially apocalyptic in two seconds flat. To make things even worse, the team's only hope for any kind of assistance lies in the highly intelligent and thoroughly pissed-off robot they just threw into a cell... will KITT elect to help them, or will he throw his lot in with the Vore in exchange for the possibility of a ticket back home?

Summary
Usually Jack can let that fond glance and teasing smile pass as mild flirtatiousness that KITT, so new to human forms of experience, is unable to really comprehend in his inexperience and his innocence.
Tonight, though —
— tonight it barrels through the night like a bullet and hits him like Mack truck, right between the eyes.

Summary
Ianto's always known that Jack Harkness will never be entirely his, and that he shares Jack's heart with at least two other people...
But when Jack looks at him with those warm eyes that are mostly blue but are also capable of shifting colour like the sea, and really sees him — all of him, the good and the evil, the light and the darkness, the best and the worst he has to offer — Ianto also knows that like Jack, he wouldn't have missed this for the world.

Summary
KITT wants to collect new data for his sociological analysis of human mating behaviours. Who better to act as advisor when he makes the rounds of various nightclubs to study the human animal in its natural habitat than Jack Harkness, the most experienced person imaginable when it comes to sexuality in so many forms? But Jack, for all his good intentions to conduct things on a professional level, might find it harder to keep his head than he'd initially anticipated — in fact, the situation might well turn out to be absolutely explosive.

Summary
Gwen is willing to admit that she has a lot of failings, but one of the biggest of them is that she's always been much too *aware* of Jack Harkness, in every way. Even now, when he's probably lost the android he loves — and all she can do is watch, and think about what might have been.

Coda to "Random Variables". Michael Knight has returned to his home dimension, leaving KITT behind — and Jack Harkness isn't sure how he should feel about that... because he's lived long enough to recognize true love when he sees it, in his own heart as well as in the eyes of another.

Summary
Gwen Cooper has watched Jack Harkness's relationship with the android known as KITT unfold for months, driven by pheromones and shrouded in secrets. Now that KITT has lost any chance of returning to his home dimension and his original pilot, she thinks it's time that Jack faced up to a few inconvenient truths — and made a full confession to the only person on the Torchwood team who doesn't know Jack's in love with him, or why.

Summary
There have been precious few afternoons like this in Jack's long and eventful life: the last one he can remember (a different face, female, had been bent intently over the book, which had been Fitzgerald, and the cup of tea, which had been black) had taken place in late spring of 1928, when the lilac bushes of Chicago had just been beginning to bloom. That too had been a rainy day, a day of pleasantly shadowed rooms and the soft whisper of water on glass, but this time it is early autumn of 2009 and this time the face his gaze keeps returning to dwell upon will never age and never decay. The thought fills his chest with warmth, a pulse of inner light brighter than the midsummer sun, a fierce silent joy that wakens parts of him he'd put to sleep long ago in the face of death's inevitability — for everybody but him.
Now, for the first time, he knows he doesn't necessarily have to face eternity alone.

Summary
Ianto Jones is prepared to do the honourable thing: to witness Jack's marriage, to offer all the right congratulations, and above all never to risk marring Jack's happiness by breathing a single word about his own misery. He's prepared to return to Torchwood's dimension and face the years to come alone, with only the memory of his lost love to sustain him.
Jack, however, may not be prepared to LET Ianto do the honourable thing.

Summary
Eight centuries ago, Jack Harkness made a resolution about never ever getting pregnant again, no matter what. He's really wishing he'd stuck by that decision, because he's six months along and he's finding the mood swings plus the episodes of amnesia increasingly difficult to cope with. (Oh, and his back can stop hurting anytime now, thank you!)
