He wasn't expecting much excitement from the trip, except maybe having to chase off overeager scrappers eyeing his ship. He certainly wasn't expecting to accidentally pick up a child along with his cargo, especially not a weird, traumatized one who keeps screaming in his sleep.

Cere answers the connection request and a tinny voice, sounding bored and well-rehearsed, says, “Prepare for boarding. Have your manifests ready.”
Greez gives her a questioning look and she nods. “We’re already locked in and with a destroyer backing them up. Better to play along than try to escape,” she says.
Greez nods and acknowledges the message from the other ship. Cere starts closing all the programs she keeps running at her station that reveal them to be more than the luxury liner for hire they pretend to be. “And yes, I remember the air filter extortion but I think being boarded by customs officials has nothing—”
“Boarded?”
After an unsettling encounter with an Imperial customs stop, Cal is fine. More than fine, actually. Totally and completely fine. But the back of his mind keeps turning to Bracca and his last ties to his old life. While exploring the ruins of Zeffo, he starts to pick away at the past. Literally.

It’s for purely practical reasons, they tell themself, because those looking to kill the remaining Jedi are searching for a Padawan girl with red hair down to her waist and a braid to match. Not Cal the scrappy human boy.

Summary
Inspired almost entirely by that escape pod scene in Survivor – there’s absolutely no way Cal escaped injury crashing on Bracca, right? He’s small enough that he probably didn’t fit the safety restraints properly, and that’s even if he remembered to try and strap in after the trauma of his friends trying to kill him and his master dying in front of him.
So.
In this universe, Cal wakes up on Bracca with a broken wrist, a head injury, and a big blank where his memory should be. The only thing he remembers? “Trust only in the Force.”

Cal clears his throat again before he answers, just to be sure, and swipes at his eyes in a way he hopes isn’t too obvious.
“Don’t you just put the seeds into the dirt?”
“Just put them in the dirt?!” Greez sputters. “You have to be gentle with it!”
Despite himself, Cal can’t help but grin a little as Greez launches into a rant, gesturing wildly with three hands, one still cradling the Kalpi seed. It’s a sight.

Summary
But the Force was quiet and absent of warnings. Even Vader's presence in it was not quite so painful. The echoes that clung to him in swarms were… gentler, somehow. Subdued, like a light draped with a dark cloth. For all of Vader's past cruelties, and the fear that was trained and carved and beaten into Cal over the course of several months, this moment felt almost merciful.
“It is time to go, Inquisitor.”
Cal stood up.
He marched past Vader, and then back into the Fortress to join his brothers and sisters, leaving something behind up there on the spire. Cal the Jedi padawan finally died watching the storm brew at sea, and in the bowels of Nur, an Inquisitor is born.

Summary
“Watch out!” someone calls, people jumping out of the way as the metal beam comes crashing down onto the deck.
Cal crashes down with it. In the resulting cloud of dust and debris, Prauf can see him land on his feet - he’s performed similar acrobatic feats before, to the point where a part of the crew is convinced that he used to belong to a circus - and then, a second later, he’s crumpling to the ground.
Prauf is the first to rush over, wrestling his way through rubble and gawking bystanders.
“Guess that wasn’t stable enough to hold my weight after all” Cal states matter-of-factly when Prauf kneels down by his side.
___With workplace safety on Bracca being basically non-existent and Cal having no regard for his own well-being, Prauf has a lot of reasons to worry.
