“Hey, chat!” Tim grins, waving at the camera. He’s in an office, one recognizable to long-time viewers as his area in the research department of the Magnus Institute. He leans back in his chair. “Today’s gonna be pretty chill, just stories and shit-”
There’s a scream from somewhere off-camera. It’s faint, and ends abruptly.

Jon had searched, at first. He’d scoured every remote corner of the internet, feeling for all the world like Martin falling through that basement window, only ever to resurface empty handed. Then he’d moved on to libraries, public records, museums, and archives. He’d searched.
But this is not his London, it's been five years, and the part of him that had felt cinched to the Eye like a fish hook through flesh is scarred over like the wound in his chest. The Knowing is gone. Some days Jon still feels like a junkie, hands clammy as he fumbles to light his cigarette at dawn, just as desperate for the fizzing static of Knowledge as if he’d been caught with a needle in his arm.
There’s nothing here of that world they’d left behind, except Jon, and his scars, and he thinks one day as he butters toast with sweaty palms that he should probably start carving himself as much of a space here as he dares. He’s never had to try before, to leave a mark, because he’d always rather felt marked, and its absence leaves a hollow feeling under his ribcage.
“Where you go, I go” turns out to be more complicated in execution than in theory, and good things come to those who wait.

Danny blinks at her. “I’m…not dead? Wait, ‘brought me back’?”
The clown laughs at him. “You’re a little slow, aren’t you,” she says, smiling wide and showing her teeth. Danny feels a shiver go down his spine. There’s a sort of offness to her that he can’t quite place, like she’s just a little to the left instead of perfectly in the middle.

“Right now, I just want to focus on us, not…the institute,” Martin said, brushing back Tim’s hair. He kissed his forehead, and Tim melted against the touch. “And this is pretty nice…”
“Where do we go from here, then?” Jon asked, hesitant glances passing to each of them.
“I say we go to Camelot,” Tim said.
“I’d like to…” Sasha said sheepishly.
“As would I…” Martin said.
Jon took a deep breath, and he nodded slowly. “Camelot it is, then.”

“This is real,” Jon says. His voice is hoarse with disuse.
Tim’s fingers go still on the wheel. He finally looks over at Jon—just a quick glance, before he returns his gaze to the road.
“Yeah, Jon,” he says. He sounds exhausted. “This is real. Put your seatbelt on.”

Summary
When Tim Stoker came to Pinhole Books, it was like someone jammed a foot on the accelerator of Gerry's life. After a health scare, a wedding to his (let's be honest) soul mate, and the exponential growth of the shop, it's showing no signs of slowing down.
Now, Pinhole is opening a second location, their beloved Fiona Law is retiring, and Tim and Gerry are bringing a new canine member into their family. But even good changes can be overwhelming, and Gerry finds himself dealing with old trauma he thought he'd left far behind him. Plus, Tim is unexpectedly forced to face old conflicts, which takes him places where Gerry can't follow.
With all these stressors on top of the typical growing pains that come with a still-new marriage, Tim and Gerry have to learn to work through their issues together.
It's either that or fall apart.
