Summary
A Nevermore-inspired piece of writing from It: Welcome to Derry, I hope my problem with continuing stories doesn't follow this one too. I'm terrible at summaries, please forgive me.
The world around me lost its contours, turning into an indistinguishable blur of light and shadow. An unbearable pressure took hold of my skull, concentrated at a precise point just above my left eyebrow. It was a rhythmic, throbbing pain, as if an invisible hammer were striking the bone with every beat of my heart, causing my thoughts to fragment amid the confusion.
The carnage before me defied sanity. Arms, legs, and heads were thrown into the air amid a red storm, pieces of life once whole now reduced to debris. However, it was not only the sight that assaulted me, but also the air. The smell of blood was thick, but beneath it ran a trail of something unholy, an odor of ancient decay that should not have been there. I felt my stomach churn, reacting to that cadaverous presence that seemed to permeate not only the environment, but my own skin.

It was not often that Prospero felt he could relax. In fact, he had not been planning on relaxing that very evening. Yet as the party unfolded around him and he approached the end of his cup, he could feel everything begin to soften. Whether it was the alcohol or the holiday influence, he wasn't sure. But perhaps the world was not quite as cold and bleak as it appeared. Perhaps there was room for joy and festivity--even in their dire circumstances. Perhaps there was even room for laughter.

The definition of a high school recluse, Pluto barely shows up to school and when he does he sleeps through all of his classes. If it isn't related to his favorite bands or favorite books, he could really care less. As a result, he's failing most of his classes at Nevermore High. Yet, there's only so many classes you can miss, and unless he can get his grades up, he's not graduating with the rest of his senior class.
Luckily, there's a purple haired girl who's happy to help him- in more ways than one.
