“Alright!” Earth clapped his hands together, grinning. “Outside we go. Or else we’ll never leave, and I may love you all, but I came down here for a reason!” He turned and marched straight for the door, tugging it open before whirling around and motioning outside. “Go,” he practically sang. “Or I’ll push you out.”
“There’s no need for that!” Mercury sprinted past him and straight down the porch, into the snow—where he immediately proceeded to trip and land face-down, entirely limp in the snow.
Earth pressed his lips together to hold back laughter, one eye closing at the force it took.

Earth finally realized that Mercury was buried underneath one of the blankets as it pooled around him, the only thing visible being his head. He blinked up at him, and Earth just blinked back, grin still static on his face. Mars and Venus were still shoving at each other playfully, and finally Earth clapped his hands again. “Guys,” he whined. “Pay attention to me.”
Mars stopped shoving Venus and turned around - behind him, Venus raised both hands like he was thinking of something before narrowing his eyes and putting them back down. “What did you need, Earth?”Or; What do you do during the Earthling horror month but watch horror movies?

Mercury blinked again, his mouth settling into a thin line. “Seriously, that’s all?” he said, the wings on the sides of his head shuffling softly as he spoke; “You just came here to make fun of me? Why don’t you just - why can’t you leave me alone?” He’d tried, so hard, to make it clear to Venus that he wanted to help him, and Venus still couldn’t just… lay off the dumb jokes? For once? Sure, Mercury had accidentally been mean himself but he didn’t mean it!
“It’s not like you’re a victim, pipsqueak! You give back as much as you get sometimes!” Venus threw his hands in the air as he took a couple of steps back, a confused look on his face. “I’m just having fun! Earth makes fun of you just the same!”
“At least I know Earth is joking!” Mercury shot back, feeling his wings flare behind him. “Do you—Venus, do you think I want to fight with you all the time? I want to be friends! I want you to be friends with the others! I want everyone to be happy!” Mercury furrowed his brows as he took a step towards Venus, hands clenched at his sides, a complicated aching feeling in his core. “I want you to be happy!”

“They’re roller skates!” He explained, holding them out to Mercury, who had a confused look on his face. “Just put them on, you’ll see what I mean.”
Trusting Earth, Mercury had leaned down and put the shoes on while Mars and Venus shared a look with each other, an arched eyebrow mirrored on both of their faces. In front of them, Mercury had finally put the roller skates on and went to stand up only for his feet to almost completely go out from underneath him. Earth caught him under the arms, laughing, but helped him stand back up and explained that he just had to get momentum going and he could “skate” around the solar system instead of flying everywhere. To Mars, flying definitely seemed a lot easier than using these skates, but Mercury looked happy as he skated around, learning how to use them and getting better every minute.
