Summary
An awards ceremony meant to honor the contributions of Enterprise/Discovery crewmen instead ends with their attempted assassinations. As two of the only command crew left functioning, Christine and Tyler decide to protect their injured friends by hauling them to Discovery and running. Una is made Enterprise's acting captain and sent to find them, with James Kirk assigned as her temporary first officer. It's Discovery vs Enterprise in a game of hide and seek where Spock, Michael, and Pike are the ones with the most to lose.
Sequel to Memorandum of Consequence and Implications of Austerity.
Kirk said, "I'm sure Nurse Chapel would be very grateful if you allowed Commander Chin-Riley's offer to beam over additional medical personnel, Lieutenant Tyler. Hasn't Miss Chapel been compliant with everything you've asked her to do?"
"What’s that supposed to mean?" Ash coldly returned.
"Aren't you in command of Discovery?"
Abruptly Christine understood what Una and Kirk thought was going on. "Actually, he's not." She strolled over to Discovery's command chair and sat down. With a smile, she added, "I am."

There's a ripple of laughter. "I actually thought that was the whole point of this party," Una says archly as she makes her way over. "Right, Joseph?"
Joseph chuckles and pops something into his mouth. He appears to be deeply amused. Chris looks a little closer; is Joseph eating popcorn? Where did he even get that?
Chris loves his friends, really he does, but occasionally he wonders why.

Summary
On what should have been a routine away mission to investigate an alien structure, Una is compelled my an unknown force on the planet to revert to her true form. Fearing discovery, she is forced to hide from her crewmates while she recovers and figures out how to transform back.
Meanwhile, the rest of the away team and the crew aboard the Enterprise must deal not only with Una’s mysterious disappearance, but with Starfleet’s automated Species 154 protocol which sees the planet quarantined and them locked out of their own systems.

The Enterprise has detected a transmission from the distant planet Tressen III, which has sent out an extraplanetary signal for the first time in its history. Ensign Uhura has translated the message, which simply asked for a response from the universe at large. Records indicate that the planet has undergone a technological renaissance in recent years, resulting in rapid scientific advancement. Federation standards suggest that the civilization on Tressen III, a people known as the Kotqi, may now be ready for first contact.
