Stupid fucking idea, he thought.
What a stupid fucking thing to do.
He won't even get to see their faces.
Although maybe that'll be for the better. His mum would cry. His dad would be disappointed - he'd think he was a coward, even if he didn't say it. Maybe he would say it, it's not like he'd have to spare Daniel's feelings anymore.
Isaac and Isa wouldn't really understand, it'd be easier on them. They'd forget, eventually. Daniel barely remembered his nonna, and he'd spent every childhood summer over at her house watching cartoons and excitedly telling her about karting whilst she cooked and nodded patiently, up until the scorching July she'd died of a heart attack.Max would be livid enough to walk all the way to Hell and get him back himself, probably. Drag him screaming and kicking all the way back to the surface.
The thought made Daniel chuckle. Sort of. Almost.
It was hard to chuckle with the coolness of the metal barrel shoved as deep into his mouth as it'd go.
He just hopes they can forgive him, hopefully.
Thankfully, he wouldn't be around to check.

Daniel, a worker at Area 51, never expected his vacation to take such a bizarre turn. On his journey home from a relaxing trip to Austin, Texas, he stumbles upon an otherworldly sight—a crashed alien in the heart of the Arizona desert. Amidst the crater, Daniel discovers Max--a curious and intelligent extraterrestrial who survived the crash.
Despite Daniel's intentions to transport Max to safety at Area 51, the alien's repeated attempts to escape confound him. Max vehemently protests, insisting that returning to his home planet is not an option.
As Daniel grapples with the mystery of Max's reluctance to go home, he finds himself caught between his duty to follow protocol and his growing empathy for the stranded alien.
