What do you get when you mix an Autobot CMO with a Constructicon's 'die if you want for all I care' attitude? The biggest blowup in medical history.
When the Decepticons, desperate for somebot who actually knows how to do repairs, kidnap Ratchet, he's fairly sure this is the end. At least until he sees how their medic, Hook, treats patients. With rescue pushed far from his processor, Ratchet sets to teaching the smug perfectionist proper medical procedure by hook or by crook, dragging the rest of his gestalt along with him.

Demand reports from Jazz and Prowl detailing how often mechs discover severed hooks dangling from their doors after returning from their local Lovers’ Lane and what exactly was determined by investigators in each of these cases? Fire-breathing dragons, skeletal avian monsters living inside asteroids being simultaneously their home, egg and dinner, or giant purple griffins are real, after all, then how other things are not?

It so nearly gave Red Alert a cerebral conduit rupture that the whole Autobot High Command had to crowd around to see.
“Megatron wants what!?” Prowl scoffs as disbelief and genuine irritation spread across his faceplate.
Because Megatron wants peace with the so called 'soft-sparked' Autobots.

Megatron/Starscream/Nightbird is endgame.
Some 70% G1 cartoon continuity, and then topped up with Marvel, Japanese G1, headcanons, and maybe 5% other continuities. Set roughly in the 1990s, but not with particular concern for historical accuracy.

In the aftermath of Megatron’s discovery beneath the arena, he and Starscream overcome one or two of their differences and finally give in to their growing attraction. But when the Altihex militia arrives to join the Decepticons, their presence brings a few problems. Such as a cryptic message from an informer in the militia, and graffiti depicting a Seeker’s violent death. And when Starscream begins to confide what he knows about Altihex, Megatron realizes there may now be thousands of enemies just outside his city gates, to say nothing of the stranger in his berth…

Perceptor looked down and considered it. The visor was well-made and cleanly connected. It functioned on a wireless connection and was powerful enough to take control of the subconscious. Brainstorm somehow got it Rung approved.
Perceptor sighed, leaning into Brainstorm, "Fine, we can try it out. How does it work?"
Brainstorm lit up, excited to use the machine.
