The afternoon heat pressed down on Portorosso in a way that made even the sea feel heavy. Luca lay on the flat stone near the harbor, staring at the pale sky as if answers might drift across it like clouds. Boats rocked softly against the docks, their ropes creaking, a sound so familiar it had stopped meaning anything. Alberto sat a few feet away, back against a stack of nets, legs stretched out, whittling at a piece of driftwood with a dull knife he had found somewhere and decided was now his.
They had been quiet for a long time.
It’s not as comfortable as you think.

Less than a year after that very first summer, Luca and Giulia are back in Portorosso. The three kids couldn't be more excited to spend this summer together--even if, for Alberto, it means he'll have to hold the cards of a few uncertain, unspoken words closer to himself than before. And as for Luca, the trouble of determining just where "home" is hasn't been this difficult before.
But what the kids cannot be prepared for is a change far greater than they saw coming.

Summary
This is loosely based off of the Disney/Pixar movie “Luca”, and it tells the story of Giulia, Luca, Alberto, and many other familiar characters from the movie. The ages are not accurate to the movie, because I wrote this before the directors confirmed the kids’ actual ages, but the age difference is very slight, as in this story, they are only a couple months older than in the film. Mentions of child abuse and abandonment are involved in this story, from Alberto’s father. Also, Alberto and Luca have a rather close-knit friendship, and Giulia can act bit like a jerk, but deep down, she really loves her friends.
There’s also a song from “The Rescuers” in here, and both “Luca” and “The Rescuers” are created by Disney. They are not my own work. So, the credit goes to them.
Enjoy, and feel free to leave some constructive criticism!! There might be a few grammar errors in here, but I’ll fix those when I have time to do it.

Ercole - 16 to 25It's been 9 years since the Underdogs had first won the Portorosso cup. Luca has now graduated from university with a children's education degree as he plans to build a school in his hometown. Alberto couldn't have been more proud. His job as a lifesaver, fixing up Vespas and helping Massimo, his honorary father with the fishing rounds keeps him occupied till he gets to see Luca and Giulia again.
But ever since they met all those years ago it is starting to become harder and harder to suppress their feelings for each other in fear of losing their best friend. Giulia is the one of the only ones who knows their utter adoration for each other, decides enough is enough and plans to get them together before she leaves for University again.
Though none of them realises that their enemy has resurfaced. Ercole is ready. After not showing his face in Portorosso after his humiliation he is finally ready to get rid of his enemies once and for all.
