An NSFW calamino fic, I wanted to give Domino a character arc so I guess this is a fix-it fic. It's a work in progress but I'm assuming it's going to be around five chapters, each chapter being 2,000 words long. It does follow along with the main story of the game so there are spoilers with some minor changes. I don't use Spanish for the characters because it doesn't feel right to me since I don't know Spanish so they speak in English I may or may not change this. This is my first time writing in the third person so I hope it's not too bad.

This is a work based on cut content in Year 4, from Grim Fandango's original puzzle document. In specific, it deals with the trial of the soul often known as "The Crossing of Dark Water" and how Manny and friends overcome this trial prior to the events we see on screen in Year 4.
This work is meant to be a love letter to Grim Fandango and everything I have adored about it since the very first time I picked up a joystick and played it through to the end. It has inspired me throughout my life and continues to inspire me every day in my art, and that is a generosity I cannot repay. This is a story about love, and change, and what it means to love others.

On the one hand, there's a secret group of guerilla revolutionaries fighting a secret war with a corrupt mob-run government. On the other there's a conspiracy kept so secret even the gods of death don't know about it. On a lot of other hands there's lost loves, terrible acts of evil, blatant trafficking of human souls, death within death, solidarity among horrible situations, tight friendships, laughing when the world looks like it's against you, and so much crime.
And at the center of it all, there's one little kid, the two men that are trying to keep him from knowing the worst of any of that, their giant demon driver, and his dog. They're a family.
(Book of Life/Coco/Grim Fandango crossover with an ensemble cast and a plot that covers a LOT of characters, but mostly Miguel so far.)
