The things that happen in flashes of moments, leading to roads unthought of, is how people can end up in the most unexpected of places — for Phainon turns on his heel abruptly, failing to catch himself in time as he trips over his own boot. Time slows for him as he waits, waits, and waits for his back to hit the ice. There is a poet, whose work he read in the tucked-away corner of the library where cosy chairs and warm mugs of tea steamed between him and his classmates, who once wrote; “the world will end not with a bang, but with a whimper” — and perhaps, this is how Phainon’s world ends.
A young man from Aedes Elysiae. A man who grew wings to touch greatness only to fall back down again. An angel found in the cold, lifeless fluorescence of a skating rink. Phainon; he almost had it all.

It cost him everything.
He flies with the wings granted to him by his fate, and he flees from the people he used to call family. He lands far away from the Palace, setting his wings down on the ground. He feels a cough coming, and it forces itself out of his throat until he feels his lungs protest in strain, as if his heart is being torn out of its place in his chest. He retches until he can finally breathe, dislodging what was blocking his esophagus, scratching its way to the surface.
What he finds on the ground is a lone White lily stained with golden blood, the same flower that Mydei shed from his eyes when he lost his companions.
This must be the retribution of Deliverance.
Phainon deserves to die.amphoreus is realized and only Phainon's head is still stuck in the flame chase, he develops hanahaki because even amidst his demise, he still desires a certain sun

Summary
It was done. Amphoreus was free.
Yet instead of feeling delight, relief or happiness, Phainon... didn't know how to feel. After all of his emotions had burned along with him to ensure they had a chance at winning, there weren't many of them left to feel. But with the new Dawn, came fragile hope that perhaps things could get better.
And that's when the cracks appeared.
He should have known there was yet another price he had to pay, that his body could never withstand so many cycles. He thought that perhaps he would have more time to finally bask in the sunlight with others, but instead he has to learn to count his days as his mind falls into despair and his body breaks down.
Perhaps the only thing he can do before he runs out of time is... to say goodbye to everyone.

The colour of his scales were far too similar to the giant dragon he had slayed a mere week ago, the familiarity of the pretty ember-like eyes finally dawning upon him with a gasp.

Phainon pesters Mydei to do a "training exchange" with him. Mydei reluctantly agrees, only to find himself lying on the ground with Phainon leaning over him.
“You know,” Phainon says casually, “back when I used to train with the other Okheman guards, I’d do this with them all the time.”
Mydei narrows his eyes. “With the other guards?”
“Yeah,” Phainon replies. “They’d always help me check my form and give me advice.”
For some reason, he steps over Mydei’s body, placing his feet just above either side of his hips. “They’d lie down over here, like you, just to make sure I was doing it right.”
Mydei’s eyes widen. “What do you—”
And then Phainon bends his knees and lowers himself, all the way down. He stops right above Mydei’s groin, and it’s close, so close that the heat from his body is almost palpable, but still out of reach.
“With them under me, watching… I’d move up, and down, up, and down…”
He shifts his hips as he says it, moving in slow, deliberate rolls.
Then, leaning in just a little, he drops his voice to a low whisper, knowing Mydei can hear every word. “And I’d say thank you when I came down on them… every single time.”
