“Who was that?” Quinn asks, making Jack jump. He’d thought he was alone.
“No one,” Jack says quickly.
Quinn raises an eyebrow. “So you love no one?”
Jack rolls his eyes. “Fuck off. I definitely don’t love you.”
“Believable,” Quinn replies. “Fine, don’t tell me about your secret girlfriend. Can we get on the boat already? Luke and I have been waiting forever for you.”

Nate grabs the trainer with his other arm and looks like he’s ready to pass out if he isn’t held up immediately."

“It’s…” Mikey racked his brain for something - anything - to say. His mind had gone blank. He turned around, trying to find some form of inspiration, but all he could see was Nate. Nate. “It’s Nate,” he blurted.
The grin slipped from Nate’s lips and the shriek that escaped his mother’s lips was so loud that Mikey was glad he’d put the phone on speaker.

“I can’t go to sleep yet,” Mikey murmured against Nate’s mouth, “I’m not tired.”
Nate knew this couldn’t be true, his and Mikey’s season had just finished and they were both exhausted. Still, Nate knew what Mikey meant when he said he couldn’t go to sleep yet, that he was too wired up, because he felt exactly the same way.
“I think I’ve got a way to make you more relaxed,” Nate said, mouth curving into a smirk as he brushed a hand over Mikey’s cheek. Mikey’s mouth smiled against his own.

Mikey jumps, then shakes her head as if to clear it. “Nothing. Hey, d’you know what Matty told me the other day?”
“Which Matty?” Dylan says, pulling herself up to sit cross-legged so she can see Mikey properly.
“My Matty. Girl Matty.”
“Oh. What was it?”
“She said sometimes--” Mikey leans closer, drops her voice “--sometimes her and her friends practice kissing with each other. So they’ll know how to do it right, you know.”
