When you arrive near one of the locally greatest lakes, you suddenly slip up and end up in the water. When you finally manage to draw breath, it seems you are in Biwa Lake, ten minutes from Kyoto. What is worse, you encounter a gang of diguisers who immediately take you to their headquarters...
What awaits you? How your life in Kyoto will happen to be in the 19th century? Will you have enough courage to believe in yourself and face new challenges?

In a universe where the Oni blood runs fierce, Oni Sen and Oni Chizuru find themselves on opposite sides of a deep divide; Sen with her sense of responsibility toward the Oni realm and Chizuru torn between her human sympathies and the Oni power in her veins.

Chizuru leaves her husband behind, hoping Kazama will keep his promise and let him live. Made prisoner, forced into a marriage with the Oni, she hopes secretly that her true husband, Hajime, will save her from her fate.
If it sounds familiar in setting, it’s because a certain author asked me permission to write « the time Chizuru and Kazama spend together in your fic » in 2023, and I said yes at the time. Now the « Author » Autumn469469 is claiming her work is original and has removed all mentions of my work and has blocked me, as well as artificially inflating hits to erase me.
If you read the fic « Twenty-Three Nights » that she wrote about « Memoirs of a Sword », first let me share my sympathy. And second, you won’t find something similar here, I believe. I haven’t been able to read it in full, but sufficiently to expect the content to probably highly differ.
Here’s my take on what happened during this event in MY story, told in Chizuru’s POV. Enjoy.

Inspired by my Sakamoto x Chizuru work "After The Fire," this one-shot explores the time Chizuru was held by her captor, after Hijikata’s death and before Sakamoto rescued her. It focuses on the long, tense dialogs between her and the sadistic captor who kept her, showing her quiet defiance.
Mostly, it’s a reminder of how strongly Chizuru always clings to hope and how strong I truly believe she is, even in the darkest moments.
This version will end with Chizuru managing to kill her captor herself.Notes: Even though I know this work won’t get much feedback, I still believe it’s one of my best pieces in terms of the writing style and the psychological rhythm.
