Then, over his shoulder something caught his attention. The light in the back room flickered. Off - on - off - on - before buzzing and dying with a final sad pop. “Shit.” Steve cursed, standing upright, trash bag forgotten at his side as he squinted through the darkened glass doors like he could switch the bulbs back on with pure willpower alone. Another thing to fix before his folks came back.
Later, he’d blame the slight buzz of alcohol running warm through his system for why it took him so long to notice the figure reflected behind him in the glass.

Summary
As crosshairs of the scope rested neatly between the target’s silver eyes, the assassin released a breath - and pulled the trigger.
The crack from the bullet leaving the rifle was smothered by a cacophony of drum beats from the band in the square, and barely a second later the glass window shattered and the target’s head snapped backwards, blood spraying from the bullet wound.
No emotion crossed the assassins face when the target hit the floor, and the party erupted into madness, people fleeing from the twitching body, diving behind furniture and pushing past others in the panic to escape.KERBEROS MISSION FAILED.

Summary
The Beltane ritual was something Arthur had never had the opportunity to witness before, though he knew of the practice in principle. Masked to hide their faces and dressed in white, young, unmated alphas, betas and omegas would take turns around the maypole, weaving ribbons in intricate patterns as they danced together. Civil propriety demanded that on every other day of the year scents were masked using a tincture prepared by Camelot's skilled apothecaries. During Beltane, however, the unmated could dance together, and test each other's scents for compatibility. The fertility ritual welcomed the coupling of those whose scents called to each other and if those individuals chose to leave their fun with the coming of the new dawn, a different tincture could ensure no lasting proof of that fun. For others, however, Beltane was revered for its bringing together of newly-mated pairs.
