Some things don’t change, no matter how much time passes and where people end up.
“Hi.” Jamie finally whispers, his eyes bouncing around your face and down your body without shame. He hasn’t seen you in years, you realize. He has no idea how you’ve grown or what you’ve been doing, he had no idea what you looked like anymore until you opened your door. You, on the other hand, have seen his face splashed across every television and magazine and newspaper for years, so you’ve never had the luxury to be curious about that.
You stare at him, hoping that your face is as hard and unforgiving as you’ve felt all these years. How dare he just show up at your apartment, after all this time and after what he did, and just say Hi.
