Inside, Steve Harrington sits curled in his bed, knees drawn to his chest, wearing Eddie’s battle vest like a sacred relic. The bonfire convulsed. The flames didn’t just flicker—they arched, twisting into a perfect, grotesque circle, like a gaping mouth frozen mid-scream. Steve’s stomach plummeted. He knew that shape.

The fire snapped shut like a camera shutter, plunging them into darkness for one heartbeat—two—before the stars winked back into existence overhead. Steve’s ears rang with silence.
