Summary
Harry Potter was tired. After surviving the graveyard and going back to the Dursleys, it seems all his friends and godfather can say to him is "We'll talk when we meet, I can't say anything". He genuinely doesn't know if he can last another month like this. And if he doesn't get news, he'll find some for himself. So he decided to leave, just for a month. The only thing he wants is to breathe. Maybe for the last time.
Of course, nothing was ever easy for Harry - it really shouldn’t surprise him that he turns out to be a wanted criminal, acquires unholy ancient magic and becomes the third side of the war himself, not to mention the pretty blonde whom he picks up while he's on the run.

Ask yourself this: What if Harry Potter had a friend from Surrey? And what if that friend was… nowhere near being the child they have to pretend to be? What if Ron then gets replaced by someone… similar to Harry's childhood friend? What would happen then?
Well, hijinks happen. Especially when those two friends try to slow the arrival of the Voldemort VS Harry Potter showdown as much as possible, yet have no idea as to what exactly change to achieve that. Fate, being VERY adamant about having it happen on Harry's 7th year, is NOT helping them any bit. Oh and they don't even know that they share the same secret, so that may be a pretty difficult self-given task indeed.

Because the one thing Albus didn't account for, was Harry becoming Master of Death.
He didn't account for Harry learning about Tom Riddle left in an orphanage during WW2, where he was believed to be possessed by the devil.
Severus Snape in a house with Tobias Snape, a man who hurt Severus, who abused him for his magic and a mother who could not (would not) leave her husband.
He did not account for Harry's will to live, for his vindictive streak.

The main pairing is Severus Snape/Auror!Harry Potter. Yes, Harry is of age, in fact he's currently twenty-nine in this fic, and all romantic and sexual feelings (both oblivious and realized) have formed after he was at least twenty. If you do not like this pairing, this fic might not be for you.
