“I just had the most interesting phone call with your principal.” You mention conversationally.
“Congratulations.” She intones without missing a beat. “I know your days lack excitement more often than not.”
“Hornet.”
“I apologize.” She says, though it’s undercut by her deadpan delivery. It’s a quick walk to the house and you hope she's stewed enough by the time you reach the front door, but her face remains unimpressed and you sigh.
“What’s this about you slapping someone?” You address bluntly, turning to face her in front of the door. She ignores you, though, settles for retrieving her own key and entering the house. You follow after her, welcomed in by sounds of singing and shouting, and it makes you rethink your half-baked plan.
“Actually, hold that thought, we need to get the others first.” A small grunt escapes Hornet— the first tangible sign that she's rattled by this confrontation.
“I don’t believe that’s necessary.”
“Too bad.” You chirp. “Come on.”

“‘We need to talk.’” She reads out loud, stabbing underneath each word scribbled on the board, before she whips her pointer behind her and begins pacing back and forth.
“This is not an emergency.” She assures firmly, pausing in her path to stare at her comrades. “But we need to respond with care.”
“How is this not an emergency!” Protests a squeaky voice and Leader Rumi sighs.
“Because it is literally just four words, Anxious Rumi.”
“But, those four words could lead to twenty more! Or a hundred more!”

Summary
The ball’s being thrown around the field some more and, of course, Zoey still doesn’t know what’s going on, but she doesn’t have Mira to goof off with anymore, and she has to deal with Jinu breathing down her neck (like him being first chair gives him the right) and she can’t help but stare at the back of Rumi’s head, like it’ll get her to turn around so she can see her beautiful face some more (which she’s often robbed of in Calc since Zoey sits in the back), but it doesn’t work and so Zoey’s restless and irritated and bored.
Some last game of the marching season this is turning out to be.

Summary
A loud bang against the front door startles her awake. She swipes at her mouth, her mind sluggish to decipher the wetness she feels as drool and not water that's leaked from the waterbed, before another bang sharpens her mind and makes her flounder out of bed.
Her eyebrows furrow as confusion takes root in her, the banging making less sense the louder it gets.
“Who the heck could that be?” She murmurs to herself and her mind starts to race with worry.
It shouldn’t be anyone (certainly not even her girlfriends), nor should they be banging on the door like this and so Zoey grabs the nearest weapon.

Summary
Mira can’t stop smiling as she allows herself to be tugged and jostled by them when her smile drops and she freezes suddenly, causing Zoey to trail off as she turns to her with a confused look.
“Mira, what’s wrong?” Rumi says, pressing in from behind her with a hand on her shoulder and Mira turns to look at her with a grave expression that furthers her worry.
“Mira—”
“Stay here.” She commands crisply before she folds into a bat and flies off without a second thought. Rumi looks at where Mira just was with her mouth agape before turning to Zoey.
“What—?”
“I don’t…” The two blink at each other before sparing another glance at the empty spot where their missing piece used to be.

She opens her eyes and looks down to see a crumpled shirt, before she glances up and sees a gray chest, slight ab lines carved to them and visible even in the moonlight. Her eyes drift further up and catch on two bare breasts, and she lingers longer than she means to before she follows a trail of blood through their valley up up up to a mouth soaked in blood with two sharp fangs cutting through the red.
"Oh." Zoey says, lifts her eyes further to meet the vampire's steady gaze.
"Yeah."

"Yes!" Rumi squeaks, pushing Elsa's head forward without thinking and stuttering out an apology afterwards.
"It's just so beautiful, I'm feeling overwhelmed!" She jokes awkwardly.
"Don't be, Rumi. I trust you." Elsa speaks earnestly and Rumi barely holds back her groan as she stares down at the waves of blonde.

“I’m having lunch together? I mean- I’m having lunch. With you…?” Emma's eyes are wide like she's a trapped animal and she swallows once, but Regina doesn't know if it's out of nerves or to finish the remaining food that was in her mouth.
