Summary
There had been a boy in her council estate a few years younger than Velvette. He’d come up to her once to explain to her that he had a pet cat now and it loved him. It had been a stray that he’d been feeding and he trapped it inside his room. Over the next few weeks, she watched him accumulate scratches and bites. It had been funny, everyone had been fascinated watching him bleed over that feral cat. He’d almost lost an eye to it once. Velvette had told him to get rid of the thing when she saw the claw marks just to the right of his eye but he stubbornly set his chin and said that she didn’t know anything.
It all ended when the kid’s grandfather came to visit and took the cat out into an alley and broke its neck.
...Velvette becomes increasingly concerned about the path Alastor is leading Vox down and takes matters into her own hands.

Vox gets carried away a lot. And every time, he returns to normal when reality finally hits him in the face. But this isn't the usual (typically Alastor-related) crashout. This is an insane and suicidal ‘I-don’t-care-what-happens,' 'I’m-a-god-and-this-is-my-destiny’ level crashout.
So when Vox acts like it never happened, Velvette and Valentino realize he may need more help than he's letting on.

Summary
Months after the Prentiss attack, Martin Blackwood is having a bad day.
Relationships among his coworkers have fallen apart, their boss is stalking them, and no one can quite shake the feeling that danger is still close by. Martin's doing his best to hold everyone together, but tea and sympathy aren't working like they used to. The sole bright spot is that it's much easier to have a crush on Jon now that he's decided Martin isn't a murderer. Mostly, though, Martin's just glad to make it through the day...
...until he wakes up and has to live the same bad day all over again.
Martin finds himself caught in a loop, reliving the 19th November over and over again, struggling to understand why this is happening and what he has to do to get out. His dear coworker Sasha is acting very strange, spiders keep crawling over everything, and at the center of it all is a man with long, sharp hands, who might be to blame... or might be the key to escaping all of this.
(Or: Michael, Not-Sasha, and Annabelle have a three-sided tug-of-war over Martin's brain, while Martin hooks up with the guy who got him into this mess and keeps trying to Fifty-First-Dates his boss.)
