“I love you. I’m in love with you.”
Paul has to close his eyes for a second. John’s gaze on him is too intense, too wanting, it makes him feel like he’s on fire. He tells himself that he must have imagined what he just heard.
“What?”
“I’ve been in love with you for ten years. Since we were kids. Practically since the day I met you.”
Paul wonders why the hell John is telling him this. What could it possibly achieve?
Or, John tells Paul that he loves him, and Paul's not ready to hear it. This causes a lot of problems for them both.

"Where do you think you're going at this time of night?"
"Home," George spat. "I'm going home."
John laughed, and George could've just socked him. "You're drunk. You're not goin' anywhere."
They weren't letting him leave. They were trapping him. He felt his heart pounding against his ribs. His breathing was ragged, spontaneous. He had to get out.
Or
George gets drunk, depressed and self destructive while home alone. His Beatle NOT-boyfriends come home and help him out.

Summary
"They’d been through it once before; just once. Two years before, in Spain. A lot had changed since then. John could still remember every detail, the smell of the room, the sound of his heartbeat, the dust motes floating in the still air. He’d cried that night, for the first time in a very long time. It was an outpouring of grief; not over their encounter, but over the self that he had lost in the days and months and years leading up to their brief fumble in the dark. He had been a long time going. It had been a long time coming."
~~~
An unnamed crisis has caused John and Brian to be functionally stranded together at a hotel out of the country; John has been grappling with his feelings for Brian ever since their trip to Spain several years before, and now he has no choice but to confront them.
