Summary
Sequel to Gold of the Daffodil.
Using a mix of book and movie canon, this is a re-telling of the Quest for Erebor with The Company of Thorin Oakenshield and Bilbo Baggins. A partial AU where most of the main canon events still happen but with a new dynamic added in: Thorin and Bilbo are newly married.
Their relationship will be tested over and over again. They will find out if their deep connection and love for one another are strong enough to survive elves, evil creatures, a dragon, gold sickness, and the constant threat of death.
Written as part of the Acorns & Oak Leaves WIP Round-Up event. With original art by youbetyourbuttons! 😍

The elf stepped into the moonlight, allowing the soft glow to illuminate his features, so achingly beautiful that for a moment Gimli thought maybe he still had a few tears left to cry after all. Legolas moved closer, the wrap of food held out like a truce, and a gentle smile played on his lips.
Gimli threw the axe.
It hit the stony frame of the window, on purpose, yet still close enough to Legolas’ face to seem menacing. “The door was locked for a reason. Only your arrogant ass would think it was an invitation to enter my room from the balcony.”

Once Bilbo has ambled off, Fíli turns to Kíli, who’s still crunching away at his apple unconcernedly. “… He was just joking, right?”
“Of course he was,” Kíli dismisses. “He’s Bilbo, the sharpest mind in the entire Company. It’s not like he could have missed the fact that Uncle’s been courting him since the end of the Battle. He’s just having us on!”

In which Bilbo is getting slightly exasperated with the fact that no one will tell him why he has such a big role in Thorin's wedding, what he is supposed to be doing there, and who Thorin's betrothed is. "you look…" Thorin sighed and shook his head. he had been sat on the bed the entire time and Bilbo didn't even have a good reason to dismiss him; simply saying that he felt a tad vulnerable as he tried his finery on wouldn't be reason enough. "you look like you were meant to wear my colors."
"oh, hush, I look silly," Bilbo mustered a half-smile as Thorin rose to his feet and strode across the room to wrap his arms tightly around him from behind.
"silly? but never in my life, my heart," he put his chin on the top of Bilbo's head and his hands on his waist, humming in consideration and squeezing lightly. ]
there is a celebration coming up in Erebor and Bilbo doesn't feel very confident in his new festive attire.

Summary
When they reach their majority, every hobbit is encouraged to carve or forge a spoon that would be their Love Spoon. It’s a very sacred process as no talking can be done during the crafting of the spoon. All of their energy must be concentrated on pouring their hopes and dreams for the future into their spoon. Reflecting especially on what type of spouse would compliment them most, what type of marriage they hope to have, and what vows they would make to honor and cherish them. The symbols etched into their spoon would showcase all of this so that way when their future spouse used it for the first time, they knew exactly what they were getting out of this marriage. And that’s it. Once someone has taken a bite from a dish prepared by the spoon’s owner, they are married in the eyes of the Shire. The act is reciprocated, and the lucky couple move in together in marital bliss.
Bilbo agonized over his spoon. A spoon no one ever seemed to want, and he had accepted his fate at no one ever eating from. Then a company of dwarves invaded his dining room, and their leader took a bite...

Summary
Bilbo has lost his memory after getting knocked out in Ravenhill, and is found by Thranduil. He’s taken to Mirkwood, unconscious still, to be treated. Upon waking, he discovers he has no memories of the previous year.
Unaware of this development, Thorin and his heirs lie recovering from their wounds and confined to bed rest. Free of the gold madness, the King orders them to search for Bilbo, as the brave burglar is still counted among the many who have disappeared during the fight. Despite this, they find no trace of Bilbo before a terrible snowstorm forces them to abandon their task and accept what they believe to be the hobbit's fate.
The King Under the Mountain mourns and, in the meantime, Bilbo sleeps.
