Summary
Dimitri only knew his world as the confines of his father’s stronghold. Despite his lifelong dream to explore the outside world, he accepted his imprisonment as his duty. It was for his best interest, his father claimed, for Dimitri was cursed with a Crest that gave him inhuman strength, making him a danger to others and himself.
For years, Dimitri endures the cruelty from his parents Rufus and Cornelia, the only figures whom he could trust. That all changes when Rufus and his men bring in four thieves as captives. In exchange for executing them in a duel, Rufus would allow Dimitri to accompany him on his next journey.
Unable to bring himself to execute them, Dimitri frees the thieves and escapes along with them. Soon, he finds himself a student at the Garreg Mach Officer Academy. Through this adventure, Dimitri learns about unconditional love, discovers the truth behind his Crest, and unravels the lies concealing his royal origins.

‘I’m just asking you to spend a little more time on making sure your writing is eligible.’ he argued, brushing out his hair more aggressively than he meant to in his own frustration. It was a distraction more than anything, albeit an ineffective one. Perhaps if Hubert would gently take the brush from him the way he’d often done in the early days of their relationship, the distraction would actually work.
It was wishful thinking, and Ferdinand knew it.
There had been a time when he’d helped him with his hair almost every evening, an act so intimate that on some days Ferdinand found himself looking forward to it even more than some other parts of their nightly routine, but that felt like a lifetime ago now.
These days, Hubert hardly bothered to so much as run his fingers through his hair at all.

When what should have been a straight forward mission in Hell's Kitchen goes pear shaped due to lack of communication, teaching his teammates sign language seems like a logical step to Clint. Communication when their comms are down - great plan! And including the local vigilante, who's been working closely with them on this, is a real no-brainer.
Until it turns out said vigilante is an asshole that thinks sign language is beneath him, judging by the way he's stubbornly refusing to learn it.
(Conversely - Matt's trying, he really is but damn it, those two signs are exactly the same... what do you mean they mean completely different things?!)
